I don’t remember people “falling” for my hologram so much before.
I’m not so sure if it makes H4 gameplay better or worse, but it’s so comical to use on people that it just can’t possibly be fair. What is the general community feeling on use/abuse of the Hologram?
Everything that causes someone to lose a fight is overpowered. BAN EVERYTHING NOW!
It drags my auto-aim away. It’s annoying, but tolerable.
I’ve fallen for it many times, mainly because I haven’t played Halo in an Age. Is it overpowered? can’t see how as it doesn’t do anything but distract people.
Ha. I know, right. Lets go back to pistols only.
Vision>jetpack>camo>regen>decoy…
It’s fine.

That’s nothing to do with it being ‘overpowered’ and everything to do with people playing like idiots.
The mentality of ‘Must rush and get all the kills!’ is prevalent at the moment. It also depends how you use it; if you use it in plain sight then, duh, no one will fall for it (or shouldn’t…) but running when you know an enemy can see you on scanner, stopping but firing the hologram ahead…that makes it look like you’ve just kept running. They think they’re going to get an easy kill…and greed does the rest.
When I sometimes fall for the Holo’s, I make a point of taking note and being more cautious in future in the match. Most people don’t seem to bother with any sort of caution or tactics above the level of “Braaaaahahahahaha dakka dakka dakka BOOM!”…
Are you serious now holograms, what’s next plasma pistol?
I love it. Tricks players so much when you use it correctly.
jup most of all the t-bag hologramm. it’s so funny to use xD
Are you serious?!?!?!?
When Reach came out EVERYONE was falling for holograms! Once we learned the tell-tale signs (no red name) it was easy to ignore them. Halo 4 is the same way. I fell for it once or twice, but I now know when it is a holo and when it is a player.
It’s supposed to be “adapt or die” people, not “nerf things so I don’t die so much please.”
Absolutely, The ever aggressive population is spun completely on it’s head with the Hologram. I’m not sure I’ve ever had so many laughs playing Regiside with it. It has got to go.
How can it possibly be OP? It’s a hologram.
It disappears or flickers when shot or grenaded.
It disappears when the user dies.
It only lasts for, what, 10-15 seconds? So it can’t run all the way across the map or sit menacingly in a doorway forever.
sarcasm
It can’t capture the hill or flag or carry the ball.
It can’t assassinate you…
/sarcasm
I never used AAs except sprint in Reach, but I find hologram to be the most useful AA most of the time (have different AAs in loadouts for specific situations). As someone said, it’s great to use to trick people watching radar, or even those who you know have PV and it’s worn off. If you shoot it once or twice, you can see it shimmer in and out, which is more than anyone can say about the camo.
What I think is hilarious is just watching people continue to grenade and melee (sometimes even 2-3 times) and even try to assassinate my hologram, completely ignoring the fact that I’m the one shooting them and the hologram is just running…
BTW, I do love the fact that you can send a hologram to -Yoink!- dead bodies (never actually used it for that, just discovered it on accident once and cracked up).

THIS OMGASH everything seems to be overpowered nowadays.
Did it always appear on the radar?

My thoughts exactly. The easiest tell-tale signs:
-
Runs in a straight line.
-
No sprint / doesn’t change speeds.
-
Won’t shoot you or look around.
I mean, come on, who doesn’t at least look around when they’re running through an open field?
> Did it always appear on the radar?
If it was from your team, it would show light blue, now it shows yellow like a teammate.
If it wasn’t from your team, I’m pretty sure it was still light blue on radar, but can’t remember as people stopped using it that much and haven’t played Reach in a while. Now it shows red like an enemy.
Hologram is definitely one of the good AA’s. Its doesn’t give anyone a distinct advantage and it BARELY changes the way the game is played. Holograms save my life at a minimum of four or five times during a game. Use it right so it doesn’t seem conspicuous and you’ve got an easy kill, beatdown/assassination or recharged shields.
Also great for checking your armor in game. Looookkinngg gooooddd…
The Holo is so awesome. I don’t use it personally, but when I find my self falling for it I always laugh my -Yoink- off. Works so well in this game.
