Is the grind for SR 152 @ SR 20 worth it?

Hiya! I’m at SR 20 or so right now. I was wondering if I’ll make it to SR 152 before Infinite’s release. I have around 40 legendary arena boosts and I’m planing to get some Warzone ones too. What playlists can you grind out the most EXP for? Thanks!

Is the grind worth it is going to depend on each individual. If you enjoy H5 then yeah it’s worth it. If you are doing it because you think you are going to get some ultra rare exclusive armor for infinite then no it’s not worth is as it’s been said already it’s not going to be armor. There is time for any one to get to 152 with enough dedication and XP boost before infinite comes out. The best advice I would say is be sure you are making the grind because you want to and not because you are expecting a great prize at the end for doing it. I did it mainly because I wanted to and not many have made it. According to Halo tracker there is only like around 1000 152s or so.

I’ve been at 150 for 8 months and play very frequently. Only halfway to 151. You would really have to grind a lot daily to get there by H6 release. I don’t think I will make it. Winning the games you do play it’s key so you get the win bonus. Make sure to play all the double XP game variants when available. Warzone for me has been good for leveling. Clan up and play with teams to increase your win rate. Good luck.

Firefight, Warzone plus boosts are your friends.

For Arena, whatever is the featured playlist or I believe Infection plus boosts.

You have a long way to go, however.

I am 1.3m into 150, so just over halfway to the 50m xp end goal. I’m playing pretty exclusively heroic firefight and regular warzone at this point. Heroic Firefight is low stress. Regular Warzone is reasonably fun if: A. You don’t care if you win or lose and just try to have your best game (Too many variables solo queueing); B. You can manage to avoid farming teams (I’ve been lucky, any stacked team I’ve ever matched has quick-cored and not drawn it out).

I’ve been playing Halo 5 since January 2018 and Halo is all I play. (mostly 5, sometimes MCC)

What you could do is just subtract how much XP you have from 50,000,000 since that is how much you need to get to 152. After that just divide it by 70 that is how much XP you need to earn per week to have 152 by about the time infinite comes out (70 weeks will be about October of next year). So yo get to 50,000,000 XP by October of next year if you have no XP what so ever you need about 100,000 xp a day or 700,000 per week, which is easily doable with good XP boost.

Nope you will most likely not make it. You would have to play a LOT of Halo to get there.

If at level 20, then I don’t think I’d recommend it. It’s too far into Halo 5’s life cycle and I’m not totally sure it’s going to last when Halo Infinite releases due the amount of hate H5 get’s, the common low population playlists that happens at certain times of the day. I don’t think there’s any chance of OP getting to 152 at launch. The only way to get there is if OP found a way to stop everything in personal/school/work life.

Halo 5 came on 27 October 2015, I’ve seen reports claiming the first person to reach 152 is in May 2016 so in theory it’s possible but I wouldn’t recommend it for the sake of OP’s health. The scary part is it’s been about 4 years and I’m barely reaching the last 1 million milestone, even I’m exhausted from the grind to 152 and I don’t think I could recommend anyone to push for over 100 ranks in a short time. Plus there’s no telling what 343i plan to give us in Halo Infinite and if it’s a emblem then I’ll be majorly disappointed.

XP Boosting every game is key as LethalQ states. Save up your RP for when you see those Legendary Packs show up in the Req store.
You will run thru boosts very quick so get em when you can.
I only started Boosting my games a year ago, which was a huge mistake. Ranking to 152 was just not on my radar.

You can get through the lower ranks fairly quickly, but then the true grind starts in the later ranks. It’s very doable, but you should make a daily XP goal if you’re serious about it. 100K a day would be something manageable although getting burned out is easy to do so just be conscious of that.

Yep one thing I have talked about before on here but will bring it up again as it will really help some… Bing rewards… Between using a smart phone and the Xbox one app you can easily get 4000 points which gets you a $5 card every ten days… Then use that card to get one of those warzone legendary boost packs from the Microsoft store. Therefore you aren’t using real money for the packs. Really helps the grind. It doesn’t take long at all to max out the bing rewards I still do it very day.

I have a lot of legendary xp boosts and I’m trying to play 15 game a day right now and I usually get 7,500 xp per game so I’m on track so far.
Edit: 27,000,000 xp to go

At SR 20 I don’t think it’s worth it honestly. It took me almost 2 years (Oct 2015 - Jul 2017) to get up to 152, and I played in quick-core Warzone lobbies (the fastest method)

Hopefully you don’t work or go to school. Play 24/7 till Infinite comes out and you might get there… lol. Like Lethal Q said do the math and see if you’ll make it before Infinite comes out.

I just got some warzone legendarys and I get like 11,225 every game no matter where I place, so as long as we win, but I haven’t seen what it does if we lose. I ran with 2 people yesterday randomly joined them and they were killing it, I’d get like mid place each game I was getting 18,000xp a game which took about 14 minutes. I was doing the infection arena boosts for a while. I love infection (at times) but I’d get over 5500 in just the boost alone

I like the arena boosts because the games are faster so I can play 2 games and get 14,000 easy in less time than a wz game takes, but I still have some wz boosts for when turbo is here I’m currently saving all my boosts and reqs hoping we get double xp and turbo this holiday season like we did last year :crossed_fingers:

True I get that, I liked infection for that reason alone, plus KD goes up if you do well! I’ll honestly only get to 150 and stop, the amount of time I can play is what’s holding me back. I don’t play a lot and in the 4 years this game as been out I’m only at 1700 games. I’m at 20% done in 4 years…

I’m almost at 148 and I’m pretty sure I won’t hit 152.

Oh you will, just keep going. I have hope and I barely play and I’m almost at 147 so I’m behind you. I can only play one day a week, and that’s if, a BIG IF I can even play on that day

I was at 151 for 16 months. It takes in all honesty an unrealistic amount of game time to hit 152. Play h5 if you enjoy it. Playing for just 152 wouldn’t be fun.

I would say it is doable but it won’t be easy. If you’re willing to put in the time and the work you could make it. It’s just gonna be a lot of time and work.
