Is the game too hard for most people?

As the title asks, do you think the game is too hard for most people? I can’t understand why it would be however I would say around 90% of my matches I am teamed up with people who do not match my skill in the slightest…

They are usually way behind in kills and the kill to death ratio is usually terrible. I thought the game should match you with people your skill level however this really doesn’t seem to be the case…I know this sounds really big headed and its not supposed to be however I really am struggling to play the game with players who just are not skilled enough…

Another thing as we know there’s absolutely loads of quitters… why should I be punished for quitters? (I don’t just mean losing the game) I went down a rank earlier because 2 people on my team quit and me and the other guy stayed and finished the game even though we got destroyed…We lost the match and then I see I have gone down a rank…Not really fair.

I love the game, the multiplayer to me feels great but low skilled players are sort of ruining it. Maybe its time to make one of those Spartan companies and try to find a team of people who are good at the game to play with.

everyone has an off game, i can play swat or slayer and come out with 20+ kills but then there is times i struggle to break 10.

Halo has a higher learning curve that is one reason it has lost popularity. You can’t pick up Halo and be good at it right away.

All I know is that I haven’t had any rage quitting issues yet…

and thats the reason people flock to things that basically play themselves like destiny.

I’m the opposite, whenever I’m in Arena I usually get stomped by the other team. I’d like to play with people at my skill level haha.

I stopped playing Destiny and Battlefield entirely for Halo 5. I require at LEAST 1-2 warmup games.

No it’s not too hard. The skill based match making seems to work pretty well for me. I’m silver 1 in slayer and teams seem pretty balanced.

Yes quitters are annoying though. You can get some people quitting because the team is losing by one point. But I don’t let it ruin my enjoyment.

I definitely think the casual gamer would suffer playing this…

For example, in CoD, even against more skilled opponents, a casual gamer still has a chance, because all it takes is getting the jump on someone and a few bullets to take them down and get yourself a kill.

In Halo, a skilled player will almost always destroy a casual gamer, regardless of the casual gamer getting the jump on them. That’s because you factor in everything… skill from past Halo games, armor abilities, weapons, sheer numbers (especially in Warzone), all of the non-traditional guns / vehicles etc. not found in other shooters… Halo 5 will ultimately last as a competitive title I think as a result, and the casual gamer is going to go grab a copy of CoD so they can have more fun with it.

Halo MP = Too hard for most people who haven’t been fans of the series for a long time.

That’s kind of why I like it.

Halo’s shield/health system doesn’t allow for the same style of twitch reflex and fast TTK game play that Call of Duty does and it’s that aspect that I believe prevents Halo from being all that friendly to less capable/skilled FPS gamers. Personally, I know several people (friends/family) who are not good at CoD yet still find it much easier to compete in verses Halo. I do think that the balancing of the Halo sandbox which includes lethal fully automatic weapons has helped Halo be more friendly to the lesser players than past titles; plus, the SWAT playlist and Breakout playlists are geared toward people who favor quicker TTKs which helps too.

Ya but don’t you just love that you have to create a spartan company on Waypoint? So convenient… What happened to implementing clans IN THE GAME like Halo 2? That was a blast and promoted easy ways to find teams.

As for your other point, I find the pairing very inaccurate. I would imagine it’s simply because there’s not a large enough population playing Arena. However, I tend to have the opposite experience. I am a Diamond rank and I am routinely matching up against Pro Onyx level players who have the numerical ranks. And then my teammates will be other Diamonds who are usually not even as good as myself like you said. So there’s no hope that I can carry my team over a group of 4 who are better than me. I also have a good friend that I like to play with, but it took him longer to adjust to H5 so he only ranked as a Gold. But if we play together, he cannot get out of that rank because it still ranks us with people higher than my own rank. I find that the game caters to people who are partied up to a team of 4, but if you want to play by yourself, it’s miserable.

Also, I think there should be immediate analytical results for quitters. It shouldn’t penalize the team that wins either way, but it shouldn’t penalize you for sticking it in there either. It should automatically reduce your penalty to practically nothing if even one teammate quits. You shouldn’t go up or down, really even in a winning cause because sometime’s it’s an advantage when your teammate quits out like in SWAT because you now give the other team fewer targets to shoot at. However, I think it should be an immediate result so post game it shouldn’t give you an arrow down rank it should just be left alone, because who’s to say they really credit you for that stuff down the road anyway? I sure have never noticed my rank magically went up for something that happened from some earlier match.

However I disagree to this to an extent for Halo 5. Previous Halo is very skillful, however I feel like the skill gap is much more reduced in Halo 5. Anyone can jump in a game and pretty much spray any weapon found on the ground and it will do an astronomical amount of damage. I think that’s why a lot of skilled players like myself don’t enjoy the game as much, because we are tired of getting picked off from across the map in the back of the heel with someone’s assault rifle lol

Be grateful you’re on the winning side of the equation. I’m more often then not on the losing side.

Also, are you suggesting that a casual gamer can not be a skilled player?

I’m trying to find some skilled players to own with. Im SR 49 with about a 1.5 KD and hardly ever go negative. Send me a message/add me : TheGagernator

Scratch my rant. I misread some of the comments.
