Is the fuel rod gun in matchmaking?

After 490 games I have exactly 0 kills with the fuel rod cannon. Is it in matchmaking, and if so, what playlists/maps?

EDIT: Thanks for all the replies guys. I have now come across it in Meltdown and Exile whilst playing BTB Infinity Slayer after trying out your suggestions.

It does indeed spawn in the trench near the Tank on Exile, but only after a while - not at the start of the game.

I have also done some digging and found these two graphics:

Basically, no wonder I haven’t had any kills with it yet - it doesn’t drop on Medium sized maps at all, and it only has a 1 in 19 chance of dropping on Large maps.

This is really going to harm my ability to get the Covenant Ordnance Mastery commendation :frowning:

It is, I see it in BTB with Ordinance drops.

I have 4 in I think almost 700 games.

It is in BTB but its a very rare ordance drop, but its still 1 of my favorite weapons

Yeah, as other said its vary rare, kinda along the lines of getting a gravity hammer ordiance drop.

Wha? I get gravity hammer as an option like every 3 ordnances. No one picks it because it’s heavy-nerfed and useless against Sword/Shotgun/Scattershot/Boltshot. If you can even get that close!

I only got it like once in an ordiance drop on Infinity BTB Slayer on Valhalla.

Ah I didn’t realize - it must be different between 4v4 and 8v8.

I mainly play 4v4 - so I see the hammer ALL THE TIME. I despise BTB - would much rather play Dominion if I’m going big team.

It spawns at start in Exile, in the trench leading from Tank side of the map to middle base. Its on the tank’s half of the trench.

I got it once as an ordnance drop in one of the first games I played.

I then proceeded to get NINE kills with it.

I think it shows up in BTB on Longbow as well. I’ve gotten a few kills with it on that map.

This brings up the issue of ordnance drops. Does anyone else hate its randomness? Especially on big maps, I hardly find it fair that someone can spawn a sniper or explosive weapon, when someone else could often get a needler.

As people said before, it always spawns on Exile and Longbow.

It doesn’t spawn on Exile at the start of the game though (I have never seen it then), but it does spawn about half way through the game. I have quite a few kills with it…

Thank god one of the specializations is to re-roll for ordnance. That’ll be my next specialization. But its always great when I geta beam rifle on Exile. Good times with that gun, thank god its back! And yes the fuel rod I have gotten about 2 times with ordnances. Its pretty rare for odnance but regularly on maps (Exile).

The only choices I get for ordinance are speed boost, needler, and frags, ever. The only times I’ve had the fuel rod gun have been from picking it up off the floor.
