Is the fiesta playlist an ironic joke?

I feel like it was a little dig at everyone who views infinity slayer as basically fiesta slayer.

Will fiesta slayer have ordnances too?

Is [REDACTED] sweating because someone might notice the similarities between fiesta slayer and every other playlist?

Time shall tell, quite interesting to see how everyone reacts to such situations.

Team Fiesta has been a firm fan favourite game type since Halo 3. It was in Reach too so it seems logical that it makes another appearance in Halo 4.

I’m happy. Why? Because we might actually see the Fuel Rod Cannon! Insert Gasp

Dude, dude…

I understand your gripe with Infinity Slayer but it’s not as bad as you’re making it out to be. You don’t have a chance at Incineration Cannon, Binary Rifle, Rocket Launcher, Beam Rifle, etc… every spawn. It’s going to be the funnest gametype in Halo 4.

Wait don’t we already have fiesta slayer (aka infinity gamemodes) in the matchmaking?

Then explain those close Haven games in 4v4 that I have lost exclusively because one team gets a Binary Rifle or Incineration Cannon that drops right next to them.

I’ve never had it happen or seen it happen. I’m not doubting that it happens. Just comparing Infinity Slayer to Team Fiesta is laughable. Sure, Infinity Slayer is flawed. It’s still not as random as a gametype based completely on randomness. The only time I truly have a problem with Infinity Slayer is on Ragnarok.

> [Then explain those close Haven games in 4v4 that I have lost exclusively because one team gets a Binary Rifle or Incineration Cannon that drops right next to them.

I say this respectfully: The other team played better that game. The better team is usually one that gets the most ordinance and uses it most effectively. That’s all it comes down to. A good player can get 3 drops to an average players 2, and if they’re truly better then they’ll make every shot count.

This isn’t the best argument, anyway. There is no guarantee you would have won if they got Needler instead of Binary. Sometimes you lose close games. It happens!

Fiesta should be good fun. I wonder if they’ll disable weapon pick up.

Original joke right hur. Give dis man a donut

1- It was world ordinance, there was 0 I could have done to prevent a random weapon from dropping at a random time on a random location.

2- Even with personal ordinance, the options are random. I could get 3 PoDs in a game, but have them all be Needler, Speed Boost, Pulse Grenades. While my enemy can get 1 and have it be a Sniper. Since you can get a perk that gives you ludicrous amounts of ammo, he has a distinct advantage over me simply because of randomness. I have lost games this way, too. An entire team on Solace sitting back in their base because all 4 of them got Beam Rifles.

It’s not skill, it’s being lucky. I have lost games 100% because of random weapons, be them personal or world ordinance.

And those Haven examples were guaranteed wins. The game nearly went to time, and we were 2 kills up. They got a lucky 4 kills with the Incineration Cannon and time ran out before we could close the gap.

If you really dislike Infinity Slayer and you aren’t playing Team Throwdown then you’re missing out.

This was before Throwdown.

And I’d rather just not play matchmaking if I have to deal with the Halo 3-loving, DMR-hating playlist that is TTD.

It will be fun… Just wait

I’m sorry that 343 isn’t currently offering something that you would enjoy. BUT if/when 343 decides to implement the DMR to TTD I’ll be avoiding the playlist completely. I go to TTD specifically to not get 5’d with ease every game.

Dude, my friends and I came up with Fiesta mode in Halo 2 and it’s been one of our most steady gametypes since (We called it Rave and it had the added feature of being a SWAT gametype, so no shields, it was epic.) But I am so pumped to play this, I can’t wait, it honestly should be a K/D boosting playlist

Also, this gametype is excellent for beginners because it lets them experiment with all the weapons in the game. Also, they get the fun of “ooh maybe I’ll get cool guns!” every time they die, so they don’t think about how poorly they are doing.

Which seems to have been 343’s design philosophy behind Infinity settings to begin with. “Even if you can’t kill anyone, get enough assists and distractions (still can’t believe that’s actually a medal…) and you might get an incineration cannon!”

Before you try irrationally defending terrible design choices on 343’s account, make sure you actually understand what the complaint was. You can’t get either of those weapons in personal ordinance on Haven, they’re random world ordinance drops. Go into forge mode sometime and look around the maps for all the godawful randomness. Unless wearing a hat made out of four leaf clovers constitutes playing better than the other team, luck isn’t a skill. (And don’t say "well gee, you could use Drop Recon… You shouldn’t have to use a perk slot for something that should have been a base player ability. Given how buggy the ordinance indicators are in the first place, maybe they scrapped that idea when they realized that it’d make it apparent to everyone how rushed this game was. I’ve never heard of anyone actually using Drop Recon except right after they unlock it and realizing it doesn’t work.)

While it might be true that the team that’s playing better generally will get more ordinance and therefore have a better chance of getting better weapons in their personal ordinance (especially if they’re using Ordinance Priority and Requisition,) there’s no way to account for random world ordinance. It doesn’t factor in the score or positioning of players when a random ordinance is launched. I’ve seen rockets drop on Adrift right next to a group of teammates when we were already winning by a landslide. The same thing can happen on all the maps in Infinity slayer. It’s a joke gametype attempting to appeal to fans of other shooters that serves to only dilute what Halo was actually about and alienate the actual fans even further. Even if you think “better team gets more personal ordinance most of the time, therefore it’s balanced,” the personal ordinances themselves are entirely random. I don’t know about you, but when I play a game, I enjoy winning because I played well, not because I got lucky.

(And I know, I’m a total curmudgeon that hates fun, don’t remind me. hahaha)

Truth, and this bothers me in a competitive playlist. There is not a single sport that functions around the concept of awarding you for accomplishing something by giving you a tool that helps you do it better. But I will laugh at anyone interested in playing Fiesta competitively. My friends and I also referred to this game as Party Mode - the Mario Kart of Halo. No matter how bad you’re doing, you’re still having fun and getting BadA weapons.

“Incineration Cannon- the blue shell of Halo.” lol
