> Dude, my friends and I came up with Fiesta mode in Halo 2 and it’s been one of our most steady gametypes since (We called it Rave and it had the added feature of being a SWAT gametype, so no shields, it was epic.) But I am so pumped to play this, I can’t wait, it honestly should be a K/D boosting playlist

Which seems to have been 343’s design philosophy behind Infinity settings to begin with. “Even if you can’t kill anyone, get enough assists and distractions (still can’t believe that’s actually a medal…) and you might get an incineration cannon!”

> I say this respectfully: The other team played better that game. The better team is usually one that gets the most ordinance and uses it most effectively. That’s all it comes down to. A good player can get 3 drops to an average players 2, and if they’re truly better then they’ll make every shot count.

> This isn’t the best argument, anyway. There is no guarantee you would have won if they got Needler instead of Binary. Sometimes you lose close games. It happens!

Before you try irrationally defending terrible design choices on 343’s account, make sure you actually understand what the complaint was. You can’t get either of those weapons in personal ordinance on Haven, they’re random world ordinance drops. Go into forge mode sometime and look around the maps for all the godawful randomness. Unless wearing a hat made out of four leaf clovers constitutes playing better than the other team, luck isn’t a skill. (And don’t say "well gee, you could use Drop Recon… You shouldn’t have to use a perk slot for something that should have been a base player ability. Given how buggy the ordinance indicators are in the first place, maybe they scrapped that idea when they realized that it’d make it apparent to everyone how rushed this game was. I’ve never heard of anyone actually using Drop Recon except right after they unlock it and realizing it doesn’t work.)
While it might be true that the team that’s playing better generally will get more ordinance and therefore have a better chance of getting better weapons in their personal ordinance (especially if they’re using Ordinance Priority and Requisition,) there’s no way to account for random world ordinance. It doesn’t factor in the score or positioning of players when a random ordinance is launched. I’ve seen rockets drop on Adrift right next to a group of teammates when we were already winning by a landslide. The same thing can happen on all the maps in Infinity slayer. It’s a joke gametype attempting to appeal to fans of other shooters that serves to only dilute what Halo was actually about and alienate the actual fans even further. Even if you think “better team gets more personal ordinance most of the time, therefore it’s balanced,” the personal ordinances themselves are entirely random. I don’t know about you, but when I play a game, I enjoy winning because I played well, not because I got lucky.
(And I know, I’m a total curmudgeon that hates fun, don’t remind me. hahaha)
