at the end of the halo 4 campaign when the didact fell into the beam of the composer did he acctually die and just because the didact gives a speech at the end of the game how humanity is the greatest threat in the galaxy doesn’t mean hes alive because at the end of halo reach halsey gave a eulegy on noble 6 even though she couldn’t because she was in prison and dead according to all official records and human beings in existence except serin osman, a couple ODST’s,spartans and admiral prangosky and if the didact is alive how do you think he escaped.
First off put spoiler and dont blert out a part of the game. But no i think hes still alive from what i heard he wasnt the real didact

From watching those Domain Terminals, I think the Didact in the game was the original Didact.
And this also means that the Didact that activates the Halo array would be the Bornstellar-Didact.
I really do hope that we haven’t seen the last of Ur-Didact. His “end” was too short and abrupt for such a major character, and we’ve only seen him twice throughout the game.
343, moar Didact plz
Terminals Spoiler:
In the Terminals, the Didact changes his body so that he is immune to the Composer, much like the Librarian does to Master Chief.Spartan Ops Spoiler:
In Spartan Ops, Team Crimson discovers that the Prometheans are not only still Orange, but are still working alongside the Covenant.Campaign Spoiler:
The game’s Epilogue features a long speech delivered in the Didact’s Voice.Overall Spoiler (and final answer):
Nope, he’s not dead yet.
No the Didact is not dead, as h is immune to the composer and to answer is that the Ur-Didact or the Bornsteller Didact? It is the Ur-Didact as he was the one who hated Humans and it was confirmed by 343I that it is the Ur-Didact. Bornsteller Didact however died in the Halo firing. Or (here is my own thoughts) that Chief is going to find the Librarian with Blue Team as some of them are still alive and are going to help John as they are all SIIs. And the Librarian is not dead if you read the new book and she is going to say none of us can stop the Didact alone. While you Reclaimer have the best chance, you can not do it without help from another. Then they go and Find the Bornsteller Didact if he is still alive. And please dont judge me on my thoughhts of what I think is going to happen in Halo 5. But the part where is the Didact still alive and that it is the Ur-Didact is true.
Yes… the didact is still alive. Just look at the back of the halo 5 case. Also look at the back of the halo 4 case.
He fell into the slipspace void that the beam was flowing into. No, he is very much alive they wouldn’t kill an enemy that big that quickly. Also if you think aobut it the rest of cortana probably fell into that void too so I doubt she will be dead either

Difference is, 343i have said she died.

I’m pretty sure the librarian actually is dead
1.The Didact is immune to the effects of the composer due to his new form that he gained during his research about the flood.
2.There is no saying that the Didact is dead. There were originally 2 Didacts. The Didact you see in Halo 4 is the UR-Didact.
- He could perhaps come back in another form.
The Didact at the end, was addressing the forerunner council about his crimes.
He fell down a giant space toilet. Of course he’s not dead, he’s just in the sewers of subspace (ie. where the composer data stream was being sent to.)
I am willing to bet money that we will see him again.
Didact = Alive
Well who is in dat War Sphinx? I hope its Faber.

Were’nt the Librarian and the Ur-didact supposed to be dead as well?
You guys do know that this thread was revived from 3 months of inactivity, but since it rose from the depths, the answer is “Yes” he is still alive. TBH, he’s an incredible character and if he were really dead in Halo 4, then that would somewhat ruin the story. Hopefully he makes a much more fiercely appearance and he can fight more physically instead of giving a long lecture on the “threats towards Humanity”.

Whoops! Maybe an auto lock feature should be implemented to avoid such action, on threads that are x amount of months old.

If you’re regarding Halo 4: The Librarian in Halo 4 isn’t the actual Librarian, the real one is dead, the one we see is an AI of the Librarian. The Ur-Didact was followed to Requiem by the Librarian who with the help of another Warrior-Servant locked the Ur-Didact away before the firing of the Halo Array
However Faber was on a Halo ring when it was destroyed and the only Forerunner who was able to be saved from the rings destruction was the IsoDidact who would go on to fire the Halos at the Lesser Ark then survived that as the Lesser Ark was out of the Arrays range
