By now, everyone here should know that the Covenant will be appearing in Halo 4. We also know that the Master Chief is attacked by a group of Covenant while escaping the Forward Unto Dawn. The real question is, will they be the main antagonists, or is there more to the story. The obvious answer is yes, but if so, what could possibly be there?
I can only think of three possible answers.
1: The Primordial Flood has a presence in Requium. I rather doubt it, since there is no sign in the concept art of Flood, but they could be hidden away, like Halo CE.
2: The Precursers, after the dsissappearence of the Forerunners, they rebuilt and moved into some lost Forerunner structures. Recognizing the Human as their rival’s ancestor, they could easily decide to try to wipe out humanity.
3: The Forerunners themselves, after facing their orecious Halo system and taking shelter inside Requium, 100,000 years later, they learn of the destruction of the Ark. Furious, they come out of hiding to take revenge upon the humans.
If anyone has an opinion, please share it, whether you agree or have another idea.
There’s also the possibility that the Sangheili want Requiem all to themselves without the UNSC knowing about it seeing how the Sangheili are more desperate for acquiring Forerunner technology than humanity.

Well there is no Flood according to Frankie in Halo 4, so who knows.

They are testing humanity for the Mantle. That is their plan.

They have another Ark, honestly if they value objects more than sentient beings, that is just shallow and petty.
Well they’re definitely not a ‘frind’.
they are enemies, though they are confirmed to not be the main enemy, though I expect to befriend them near the end of the game. the Flood are apparently confirmed not to be in the game (which sucks, cause i miss them now).
I believe Precursors are the ancient evil. Forerunners just don’t make sense. and imagine: Precursors can create living creatures, so why not create an entire army of all kinds of powerful creatures and become the biggest threat to the entire universe

Exactly, though I have not read the novel where they say they can create organisms.
So i guess an Elite trying to kill Master Chief with an sword on board the Dawn isn’t obvious enough that the scattered remnants of the Covenant are not all friends to the UNSC.
Nor is the fact that Master Chief kicks said Elite down a shaft…

Not saying ur wrong, but a random Covenant pirating crew finds this super-secret mystery planet? That would be a HUGE coincience.

Well thats what the magazine says, sorry if anyone doesn’t beleive me, you’ll just have to see it in the game or if you ever read it in Issue 137 , =)
What is this frind you speak of? Please elaborate.
