So, just hopped back into Halo 5 a little more consistently after about a 3-4 month hiatus.
One of the things I praise this game for is a solid multiplayer. Say what you want about splitscreen, microtransactions, sprint, elites in matchmaking - but the fundamental basics of the multiplayer are rock solid.
Except for one thing.
Radar range.
Is this even being addressed, or thought of being addressed in Arena? Back into my first game of FFA, I realized why I quit for such a length of time. If you want extended radar range (Warzone), prepare to get farmed, or at least destroyed by people who buy into the PTW microtransactions. Or dropped into a game that you’re losing 750-300. And the BTB experience, is at its very best, mediocre.
Back to my point - for the speed and abilities that this game brings, the radar range is just too damn small. Since this game is so much based on “who sees who first” as far as who gets the kill, when the radar is cue Rob Lowe from Parks and Rec literally useless, why have it?
Everyone has been talking about this for a while… sadly 343 said that the old 30 master range was too large and made people rely on the radar to much so they made it 18… but it’s useless now so why not just keep it at 25 like it used to be?

Should be 25m for Arena(4v4), 30m for BTB, and 40m for Warzone. Also there needs to be a Hardcore mode without a radar and increased movement speed.
but if they fixed it they couldn’t sell it back to us as a REQ?

I know we’re talking about it on the forums, but is 343 even talking about it or addressing it? Or is there even logical reasoning behind it, when they’ve increased movement speed?

This game is definitely not a “who sees who first” game. You can easily turn on someone if they have a bad shot or your shot is just better. Getting outplayed because someone has better positioning then you does not constitute them just “seeing you first”

Extending the radar out would be helpful and would probably reduce the Spartan charge complaints as well.
I just want to comment about what you said about getting wrecked by people who use microtransactions. I don’t use microtransactions at all and I have way too many REQs. I have like 20 of each type of tank. So the microtransactions are not really a factor.

You’re also a level 124, which I am not. They’re definitely a factor for me, considering I took a break and missed a bunch of updates which people got a lot of free things for. So not only is it the PTW crowd, but the everyone else crowd.

Maybe I should’ve clarified to “seeing you first from behind while you have no idea they’re behind you with an assault rifle”.

Youre forgetting about all the “easy buttons” the game gives you to not die when you should. Why dont you sprint, thruster, and/or clamber away?

If they’re far enough away to not be on radar and using an AR you should definitely be able to beat them with a magnum.
Slayer Pro…I miss you old friend…
