Yea I don’t think it’s necessarily AR/Sidekick problem, they are both very good close range though, where you can melee, more that a large chunk of people use melee as a crutch.
I do remember back in h3 though that people would just AR + beatdown in anything that wasn’t BR starts or ranked playlists prior to BR starts being a thing. So it’s not just sprint - the behavior has always been there.
Yea thruster was nice to keep and use to get away from melee people - if I could get downvoted for this I probably would - but in reach and H4 I almost always used jet pack just so I could fly straight up when a melee dude approached and they would just stand there and die 80% of the time. Was satisfying.
Look at Sword Base in Reach: a map where map control is incredibly important, and can reward a team for fighting to take more advantageous ground, which is a good thing. You can also do the same thing by B lining to the highest point you can reach with your Jetpack, which, while fun for you the individual, is unfun for the four other people you flanked for free.
If the game was good people would be less likely likely to complain. However it’s bad. In fact, the only bit they got right was gameplay and that was copied and pasted from HCE,2,3.
The Halo community is a crazy one. There’s a lot of cool things about it, and some bad. Everybody is different no matter what community they’re in. Lots of opinions and ideas get thrown around and it can be overwhelming. Try not to let the community ruin Halo for you. Just remember to be yourself and keep enjoying the things that make you love Halo. It could be a book, could be a tv series, it could even be Halo 4 and 5.
This game was “destroyed” because it didn’t include the most BASIC FREAKING ELEMENTS OF HALO, nor did it implement basic elements that exist well.
Radar? Trash…very small and inconsistent in detection.
Player Collision? Barely exists.
Social Playlists? Pfft what’s that.
Freedom to chose a dedicated game mode? We can only choose 3 modes. And Big Team Battle forces you into a random rotation of game types.
Theater? Buggy, can’t even capture Campaign gameplay, you would think they would’ve learned from Halo 4.
Weapon Sandbox? Lacking. Fiesta shows how small the choice of weapons are.
Vehicle Gameplay? Aweful , especially when it comes to collison and focused fire/melee on say, the driver.
Ranked Playlists? Team Slayer…mkay…where are the others like Doubles?
Pre and Post Lobbies…why In the blue starlight of HELL is this not a thing. 2021 game…and no pre and post game lobb
They had ALOT of support since the Flight, but barely changed a thing. This game isn’t broken and in a state of decline because of the “muh Sprint” or " clamber bad".
Edit: also post launch release…all we have gotten…where different shades of blue, cat ears…and a discount version of Chief as an A.I. Hmmmmmm I thought it was “a BeTa”. Glad now we established that it was truly an early release of what it
I agree.
In my mind there is no difference between weapon and grenade pick ups, and equipment pick ups. You grab something that gives you a situational advantage. Just like guns and grenades, there is limited use.
While that may be true I think the movement equipment is to far. The sheild and electric ball is fine. I don’t mind them. I do however have a problem with people using the equipment to make important plays. I think people don’t give the grapple enough credit. It can do some wild things. Even game winning plays if your good enough which is why I think they should always be treated as power weapons
Yeah but it just allows more deeper gameplay when everyone has the same abilites as far as thrusters go.
You can’t make the same plays as before. If only one person has it or two then only one or two can make those plays.
I get what you are saying but am quite sure you aren’t getting what we are saying.
It simply allowed for a higher skill curve of movement of the total game.
Having everyone have different abilities and not even being 100% sure if the have them or not without looking for a small glow on their wrist = LAME and then even if I make that out quickly enough…then the next logical thought is HOW MANY ABILITIES DO THEY HAVE LEFT??? which is UNKNOWN!!!
YOU MUST SEE THE LOGICAL FLAW.
This simply does not work as well and is a half step in evolving the game to cater to those that until recently didn’t even want us to RUN!!!
Literally typing all of this out is irrelevant as you are speaking from the perspective that the franchise wasn’t already dead in the water and abandoned by fans and rejected by the younger gaming audience…
years prior…Literally generational
ahahahahahahahaha
Idk if they will ever understand. This is why chess is still a game that people play because the simplier the game is the more you have to think to outsmart your opponent.
that the community is destroying itself is more becoming old news more.
since there are people that not wane accept and deal with it that the developers make there choise what there wane see in the game.
for exemple:
there are people that wane see that the halo game most stay the same always and notting news can be add.
then you have groups off people that hate something and think its bad for the serie’s.
and keep on with the long list.
in the end the community is ruining the halo series more since there cant accept and deal with the choise the developers make for the halo game’s since its always not good.
Imagine if 343 stuck to their guns and created Halo 6 instead. It may have no been what people wanted but it wouldn’t been a commitment to that idea of Halo 5 instead of yet another game that changes up Halo a lot
No I get it. It’s just a different game. H5 was fun with everyone having the same mobility, and I think HI is fun how it handles the equipment.
Regarding the number of uses left, you also don’t know how many sniper shots, shotgun shells, needless, etc. an enemy has and it isn’t a problem there. Again, very similar to weapon pick ups.
Maybe worth considering giving everyone a thruster with 2 or 3 uses as a spawn equipment, then a player would have to choose whether to swap it for something else.
