Sooo, let’s talk about the binary rifle. We need to figure out what it needs and what it doesn’t need.
Binary Rifle.
This thing. I could rant about how trash this thing is unless you can quickscope your target. And I mean Quickscope. That beam is basically a death wish. “Hey, I’m right here. I want to die, come kill me.” It also doesn’t have a good amount of ammo. I believe only 3-4 total magazines. And the beam lasts for like 3/4 seconds but a body-shot doesn’t kill.
EDIT: I’ve been told that the Binary kills as a body shot ONLY if the whole laser hits them. But that’s pretty hard to do, so my point still stands.
So how do we improve?
Make the beam more transparent, or maybe like the Covie/UNSC variants, a glare when you look straight at it. This makes it less obvious where you’re aiming.
Give it up to 10 extra rounds. This gives the Binary Rifle up to 6 total magazines.
Make the rate of fire a bit faster to make up for the not insta-kill body-shot. - Retina of the Mind’s Eye.
This makes up for some of the standard binary rifle’s faults. It has a total of 4 shots per magazine, and a total of 4 mags. I also believe it one shot’s spartans anywhere.
Now, it’s faults are, well, it’s beam. Once again, it’s kind of a death wish. - Twin Jewels of Maethrillian.
MUCH better than the standard BiRi. Super strong, good amount of ammo, and it shreds through vehicles! What could possibly be bad about it?
Apparently, everything. It feels really slow. Unless your vehicle is a standard banshee, standard wraith, or phaeton, the vehicle would be going too fast to keep the beam on. Scorpions are EXTREMELY bulky, so you’d be wasting your shots. And once again, the beam is a death wish.So here’s what a mythic binary rifle should be: Death’s Answer
Prometheans and Humans alike trembled before this mighty weapon. Ultimate Binary RIfle with no targeting beam, extra ammo, and and instant-kill laser. Laser tracks infantry vehicles (Mon/Gungoose, Warthogs, Ghosts), as well as air vehicles. (Banshee, Phaeton)
Magazine Capacity: 3
Total Magazines: 5
Now, why a vehicle tracking laser? Well, this laser insta-kills all Warthogs and Gun/Mongooses except for the ONI Variants. The standard ghost as well. Sword and Ultra take 2 and 3 shots, respectively.
Banshee takes 3, Sword takes 4, and Ultra takes 1 to break shield, 4 more to kill.
Phaeton takes 2.
Scorpions take 6 shots each, with the ONI taking 8.
Wraith: 3, Sword 4, Ultra 6.
Perma-Overshield that recharges after 15 seconds.

but yea the scope is annoying as hell but you can still pick off noobs who are unwary and if ur skilled enough you can kill tons of people with it too anyways.
Well, I think the scope and the laser sight is a huge disadvantage. I mean great, a concentrated shot anywhere on the body will kill, but I’d have to say it’s easier to just get a headshot or two body shots with either the Sniper Rifle or Beam Rifle.

But for someone like me who sucks and has to take their time for my prey to stop moving so i can aim?
I’d be dead in seconds.
And the mythic is pretty fair, being lvl 9 and a legendary mythic.

What you must be pretty horrible to land all of the beam and not kill them. I wa a pretty sure that it killed them if you hit the whole shot. Maybe your just a bad shot, or I am a great shot.

No, the standard needs two rounds. Only one if you can miraculously keep the entire beam on the head.

If you hold the shot on target for the duration you get a one shot kill. I mean its not the OP beast it was in 4, but it has its uses once you learn how to use it.

What I said. if it doesn’t completely hit them on the HEAD, it 2 shots. I’m 99% sure a body shot with the standard completely hits doesn’t kill.
But that’s BTB, i need the binary cert for warzone.

Well I am a really good sniper so I guess that’s why. I usually kill them in one shot or miss entirely.

Standard Binary and Retina of the Mind’s Eye are the same,the only difference is clip and ammo size so yes one shot can kill,you have to stay on tagret until it’s burned.
IMO, the Binary Rifle, Incineration Cannon, and the scattershot took a big hit in Halo 5. Those 3 weapons in their Halo 4 days were a force to be reckoned with. I mean they still are in 5…but their Halo 4 cousins are FAR SUPERIOR. But for the Binary Rifle in this game, it’s meh.

Scattershot was buffed from 4 to 5, no? But who cares, now it’s still superior over the UNSC Shotgun. Before it was pretty, well, -Yoink!-.
