I just played a match of TU BTB Team Slayer on Ridgeline and was betrayed by the same person 5 times in a row. I never retaliated against him or anyone else in any way yet I was not given the option to boot him, neither was my friend who was betrayed by him for the sniper rifle.
On the other hand, one of our teammates was betrayed a single time by another (who’s only betrayal in the match was that one person) and was able to boot him immediately.
What exactly happened and why couldn’t I boot a person who betrayed me so many times without provocation?
Betrayals and team damage are tracked across multiple games. Dont hardly ever betray or shoot your team up and you will never get booted.
Knowledge is power.

I’m aware of all that, but it’s not entirely true in my experience. I’ve gone months without betraying anyone then gotten one or two accidental betrayals and gotten booted for them, the most I’ve ever seen someone require before is 3 and only in big team games.
A player who is going around hitting all of his teammates and betraying 6 times in one match (5 were me, one was my friend, neither of us got a boot option) has probably not gone very long without betraying prior to that match, and there’s no excuse for him getting away with 6 betrayals. There’s no excuse for that ever, and as far as I know it’s not even possible, leading me to believe that the system messed up somehow in that match.
Notice where i said team damage.
also are you exaggerating things? 6 betrayals? Did you watch the entire film and count them?
I find it hard to believe.

I know for 100% certainty that he betrayed me 5 times. I also watched the film and I’m fairly sure he got one rocket betrayal on my friend, but I could be wrong there. 5 is still a huge amount of betrayals to get away with in one match.
To be honest I actually wasn’t aware of team damage having an effect, so that explains why it’s inconsistent sometimes even when I don’t betray.
Well i cant explain that. But yes it counts team damage.
I have no problem exploiting the boot system to get rid of people who slight me on purpose, because i dont betray and i watch my fire.
Is it broken?
Hell yes it is. Horribly, inexcusably, ridiculously broken.
But it always seems to work out to my advantage. I can betray for the sniper, and then boot the guy when he betrays me back for it.
Yes. Tired of this crap. and also spawn trapping in grifball, so that you spawn out of the map.
I stopped playing 2 months ago due to this grifball garbage and now am done for a while as well do to just getting betrayed multiple times and then when he knows he will be booted for it if he does it again, he just shoots me enough times to not kill me but make sure the other team can with 1 or 2 more shots.
Just turn off friendly fire or boot them permanently. gears and COD have this under control, why cant you?
its not broken. it just isnt perfect. it does wind me up when a team mate kills me with a rocket launcher while im boxing with an enemy player. it doesnt go down as a betrayal every time though. it depends on how much damage you have taken prior to the rocket. this is where armour lock really works well. jump into a crowd of enemy players to get their attention and lock up while your buddy blows them to bits!!
well the boot system is a -Blam- . It works like this:
You accidently betray a teammate. Boot option 90%
a teammate betrays for a power weapon. Boot option 40%
a teammate betrays for fun. Boot option 05%
a teammate jumps in the rotor blades of your falcon. Boot option 99.9999999999998%
Make booting an option in firefight. In matchmaking firefight it is next to impossible to betray someone, in fact the only way you can is to splatter them with a vehicle. And everytime it happens it’s on purpose because lets face it if you’re speeding along in a ghost or warthog and someone is running around trying to play you can easily avoid them, but most of the time they just drive over you. Because you can’t get booted so why shouldn’t you be as big a jerk as possible!
Original topic, I know it happens all the time, 5 betrayals to get booted, or one accident. I think the game is set up on purpose that way, so that accidents are punished and jerkishness is encouraged.
My point about the firefighting, today it was on installation 04. I respawned and blew up his hog, then followed him for the next 5 minutes sticking him with a plasma launcher, so that all he could see was a blue fiery ball.

Agreed, I get so angry for geting booted for 1 beytral that if I get the option I boot someone straight away, even if they don’t deserve it, to dish out the karma and give myself more access to vehicles and weapons. However people should not follow my example, it’s wrong, hopefully one day I can forgive these kind souls.

Better yet…
You’re in an objective game. You’re Trying to save your friend by jumping between him and another guy. That guy sticks you, you both die and…“Betrayal” X(
