is the banhamer being evaluated?

Like all of us we are human we are prone to making mistakes and to acting on emotions. I purchased this game because I love competition and one thing halo 5 does very well is competitive game types. And because of issues like lagging and teammates quiting as well as matchs being made with unequal skill level teams. I have left my fair share of games are my excuses valid some say yes some say no. But that’s not the point the point is the banhamer currently in placed is in simple terms OP (over powerful) I understand leaving games is frowned upon and I think punishing players by not allowing them to play a game they spent 60 dollars for is uncalled for. Maybe in smaller cool down periods would it be justifiable like 20 min every 3 quits or something along those line but in my case 3 days is just absurd. Not to mention the already excessive punishment of not being able to play a game you paid for, they derank you as well. So maybe 343 will reply or someone with access to communications with 343 can ask if this issue is being looked at or is it even considered an issue in 343 terms… everyone is intitled to an opinion and I’m sure I will receive a lot of hate for this post all I ask is you think about this because it can be you on the same end getting banned and how would you feel

My take is this:

For Ranked: Somewhat heavy hammer. It needs to be a solid deterrent. Under NO CIRCUMSTANCES should it EVER be a permanent ban, but 24 hours isn’t the end of the world if you leave often enough.

For Social: Let it be a FFA. Don’t ban for social. The games mean absolutely nothing. In ranked, you lose something if you lose. You don’t in social and that is amplified by the fact that rewards are completion based and not win based. If you add JiP as well it would help a bit as well.

And when we “quit” a custom/or forge because to want to make other thing, we can be banned for have not to think to “finish this game” instead of “quit” :@

That could be a solution a social playlist… and yes assault is a social playlist but sometimes people want to play arena style game modes as well

I’d say spare Free For All as well. DNFing those hardly changes anything so…

Also, I agree. People harping on about not being able to play for a day. Don’t they have more important stuff to do or… you know… other games?

I agree there shouldn’t be a penalty if you quit when it’s 4v4 and two of your team members drop out.

Other than that, I believe the ban hammer needs to strike even harder.

The banhamer is quite outrageous in my opinion i lag out I’m banned for 20min which is crazy

Again, how do you know it’s minutes and not hours? How does the format go?

If 343 was smart l, which they clearly aren’t, it would work this way… there would be two playlist ranked and social… ranked would have max six player FFA, 2v2, and 4v4 playlist where strict ban hammer rules would apply but there would also be a forfeit option if players quit or get booted where remaining players won’t be penalized. Then there would be a social playlist where it has JIP… max 8 player FFA, 2v2, 4v4 and 8v8 playlist and very slack if any ban hammer, exceptions to excessive suicides and betrayals.

That’s extremely hypocritical quiting is quiting correct? For you to say in certain instances probably ones that have affected you into quiting is acceptable but any other instance isn’t come man go outside your box of thinking

From someone who occasionally suffers from the same ailment, it is to provide better player experiences. You may be bummed you get clocked upside the head by the banhammer, but think about the team you just bailed on. I don’t quit often, but I have, and I know I deserve it because I hate it when people bail on an arena match, unless they are just feeding the enemy. Just suck it up and reminisce on how we are still talking about the banhammer after 9 years.

Have you played a 2v4 match in the enemies favor? It’s like getting massaged by an elephant…
