Now I do know that someone else has already created a Post based on this topic but I just want to re-write it in a more sensible manner.
Say your in a scenario when you’ve just joined a game and it’s lagging like hell. Now I don’t mean the sudden bits of lag I mean the full blown lag attack with the triple jumping and so on.
After waiting say half a minute for the lag to stop you decide to quit the game and obviously find a better host in your local area. (This usually takes me three games, don’t ask why)
So anyway the process takes you like two or three games then you find the game right for you; o wait hold on the game is actually bad. You just joined in on progression and the blue team is winning by 460 - 50. (There’s still five minutes of gameplay…)
Again with frustration you quit the game and try again…
Finding a game at last, you go through all the lobby stuff and now your ready to play. Whilst in the game there are twelve year old’s annoying the crap out of everyone and team killing you and giving no effort to even consider playing the game how it should be played. (Yeah I get that a lot :C)
You then of course “p1ssed off” quit the game…
Deciding that selecting a different playlist will help; you attempt to join Flood.
[[Player has been banned from playing matchmaking on Xbox live. You cannot start matchmaking with banned players in the lobby]]
…how did I??
This is the process some people go through when getting banned. :C
I use to think people got banned for hacking, discrimination or just plain annoyance of good folk. (Like those kids) Doesn’t seem like that anymore…
Anyway thanks for the people who read through. But do give yourself some time clarify your thoughts and opinions on this post. I’m not against the sixty minute banning, (or banning in general) just confused how the banning system itself intervenes with this method/scenario I explained.
Who think’s we need the good old fifteen minute banning system again? me…
Not me. I’ve quit 4 times in a one hour period and haven’t gotten banned.
Also you don’t need a new topic. There’s been two other topics on the front page in the last hour. There’s a reply button there for a reason. State your opinion and discuss it there.
A 60 minute ban is short enough where you can start playing again in the same day, but long enough, where people have to reflect on their actions.
It is necessary so you don’t screw over your teammates repeatedly.
> 60 minute ban for leaving crappy games, ok your not making sense there…?
Well either they dont have a ban or they do because if everyone said oh i quit because of these reasons then gameplay would be really bad. I find most quit due to losing a match and leave because they cant take losing. Thats why theres a ban and im glad there is. Id rather it be this way then letting gamers screw over the team and leaving
> 60 minute ban for leaving crappy games, ok your not making sense there…?
So you’re losing 460-300? You quit a match. Why? The other team needs 14 kills and it will be over soon. Instead of attempting to help your teammates come back, you leave the remaining teammates out to dry. You should get punished for that. What’s not to understand? You’re ruining the game.
So someone is betraying you? Boot them. They are annoying you? Mute them.
The only conceivable reason to quit a game is lag. I have normal cable internet and I’ve only gotten lag issues in about 1 game every other day. 60 minutes is a very generous ban for mass quitters.
I get some of your frustrations, but why not just keep playing in some of these games. Eg. You join a game and are down 400 - 50 with 5 minutes left. That’s 5 minutes to rack up as many kills as you can.
I lagged out really badly in a swat match the other day while playing with friends. I finally joined with like a minute left on clock. I kept playing and came out with an immediate double kill and some other kills. Moar XP for me
> Have you read nothing I’ve said, you’ve gone instantly to downgrading my own view…
What you’ve said is irrelevant b/c it doesn’t happen that way. You have to quit A LOT to get a quit ban. And if you quit enough to get a ban then I’d set it for 4 hours.
My friend if I was 460-300 I wouldn’t leave the game… Last I checked I said 460-50 and five minutes of game play left. So what It’s my responsibility to help all the others in that 460-50 game when their doodling around being idiots… no.
You lack acknowledgment of the butterfly effect mate.
I ignored your comment, because i’ve never joined a game and been down by 40 kills. I’ve never joined a game and been down by 25 kills in a regular teamslayer game. (Not BTB). Finally, I ignored you and used my own hypothetical because it was far more reasonable and likely to happen.
And yes, you get banned for leaving games… I get the concept games are for fun. You are not getting the concept that you are ruining the fun for your teammates as well. If you can’t play by the rules, you’re going to have to sit-in timeout for a little bit till you can understand the rules and play by them.

I agree with you up until the point where you quit because of JIP. LIVE WITH IT! One loss on your record won’t kill you, I promise. But quitting because of lag I fully understand, that is a real issue that I think would be worth quitting a match for.
i think its ridiculous altogether why do we have jip we have it so that leaving doesn’t screw the team but with this it has no purpose but i don’t care what you all do
Never understood why kids come here crying about being quit banned and then paint a scenario that’s way off the mark from what really happened. Given the fact that you can avoid JIP just makes these stories even more stupid.
If you quit enough for a quit ban then you deserve to be banned for an hour. Why should you punish your teammates by quitting, thus ruining there time on halo, and you get off with no punishment. It used to be you lose a rank. Now its you have to sit out for awhile.
