Is the 10 posts per day limit intentional?

I was surprised to get a pop-up yesterday informing me that I had hit the 10 post per day limit for new users, and that I had to wait until the next day to resume posting?

Is this intentional? Or is the limit removed at a certain point?

You’re probably on Trust level 0. You’ll be able to make more posts when you move to Trust Level 1. To get there, if you haven’t already:

Get to trust level 1 by…

  • Entering at least 5 topics
  • Reading at least 30 posts
  • Spend a total of 10 minutes reading posts

I suspect I have already done that. How do I see my Trust Level?

I got a notification telling me that mine went up

It was like that on the previous forum as well for new users.

I had that last night, was a bit frustrating as been active member for ages, then new waypoint comes and I’m just a basic grunt again lol
Trust levels will go up, just takes time and being active

Haha I agree, it’s weird having restrictions again!

How can you find that? This website is still confusing to me!

You should’ve gotten a greetings private message. The message will have a couple links that you can click which show the trust levels and other things.

I wonder whether we will rank up rapidly if/they bring over the posts from the old site.

The seems to be some sort of new user tutorial you are supposed to do, but I wasn’t given the option and don’t know where to find it.

It is a bit confusing, took me ages to figure out the certified / licensed badges.
To anyone being confused with those, opening greetings message is a good start, as that’s where the tutorials are, when you get new user tutorial certificate, to start advanced user tutorial, type @seeker start advanced tutorial and your good to go

Hi! To find out what I can do, say @seeker display help.

Thanks. That was really helpful. I get it now.

I think they need to make it really obvious that the tutorial is there. Giant text obvious. Otherwise I think people will disregard it as the usual bot welcome message spam with all the usual forum information that they know already.

Like I did.

It would be helpful now even to new users if the monitors could maybe in the welcome to Discourse add clear instructions on how to navigate these things etc @stckrboy :grinning:

Monitors can’t do this, but I can pass word to the Community Team and see if it’s something they can change

Thank you for letting us know :grinning:

Trust Levels replaced the fourm ranking system correct? I was a Marine when it made the switch

Yes I think so. They moved to Discourse. No idea how and if your previous forum rank will carry over. Maybe the relaunch is some kind of soft reset (but still moving over the posts from the old forum to the new one).

Edit: Managed to butcher the quote. Off to a good start :exploding_head:

@Accessing If you go to your profile summary, there should be a button that says ‘Expand’ with an arrow next to it. Click on that and you should be able to see your current trust level, along with other details
