Is superfiesta really random?

I’m starting to doubt.

Sometimes I think the game gives me crappy weapons on purpose because it wants our team to lose for balancing win/loss percentages.

I know right! This happens to me all the time! I’m sure it’s just bad timing or something though.

It employs a weighting system, so the selection isn’t random.

> To keep things interesting, the rarest REQs will also be a bit rarer in Super Fiesta. So when you wind up with that Prophets’ Bane, be sure to put it to use.

All I know is if you’re trying to complete weapon coms it knows not to give you what you’re looking for. Splasers took forever.

How can you doubt it? You’re rolling the dice for weapons every time you die. Sometimes, Lady Luck wants to squeeze you by the balls instead of hold your hand. Such is the way of Super Fiesta.

It is still random. You just have smaller chance of spawning with a Mythic weapon.

I’d say what you’re experiencing is a tendency to assume meaning to random occurrences. You want the rockets and then when you don’t get them you want to believe the game is outfitted against you, when the chance of you getting rockets is the same regardless. It’s a natural thing. It isn’t quite the gambler’s fallacy, but it’s in the neighborhood in that you’re assuming certain outcomes are more or less likely based on inconsequential factors.

That doesn’t mean it isn’t random. Think of each weapon as a ball in one of those ball popping machines. If there are three 2s and only a single 9. You’re more likely to get a 2 than a 9, but it’s still randomly determined from the available choices.

It seemed random when I was playing. Peoples minds always zero in on negativity so of course you will always remember more the times you got crappy weapons over good weapons.

Sometimes, assuming the game is out to get me is the only thing that helps me sleep at night when the other team has a bunch Mythic weapons (Prophet’s Bane x2, Tartarus’ Gavel, Super Rockets) and I keep spawning with stuff that has no chance against said Mythic weapons. True story. Needless to say, my team got crushed T_T

Been there, done that. TWO NORNFANGS AND AN ANSWER?!

Its not completely random, much like RNG in req packs certain weapons are rarer to spawn with.

There’s only one thing that’s more random than the weapons in super fiesta: the spawn points.
I mean i usually play ranked so i’m used to fair spawns but really, what am i supposed to do when i spawn with the magnum and the AR right in front of someone who’s got rocket/railgun?
I know that this playlist is meant to be chaotic but c’moon.

The reality may not make you more comfortable, but it remains the way things actually are. In this case there is no conspiracy against you, the game doesn’t have a personality or consciousness to hold a grudge. Reality may not be comforting, but it is the way things actually are and it’s far better to understand the way things are and be able to react accordingly, then it is to hold on to misconceptions.

Everyone suffers from getting garbage weapons in Super Fiesta…lol. One of the worst is getting a plasma pistol and AR. I just run around and pick up a better weapon that some poor soul lost when he died.

Uuh… that’s still being completely random. Only difference is the odds of getting rarer weapons are higher. Kinda like the odds of hitting the jackpot in a slot machine are higher than any other random combination.

Sometimes it seems random, other times not so much. I really don’t know. I have witnessed the same player get nornfang 3 times in one game before. I even went back to theatre to check it and sure enough he actually got 3 nornfangs in one game. Then I checked his service record and he had like a .3 kda. Interesting a player that is that bad gets a weapon like that 3 times in one game. Coincidence? Maybe, or maybe there is something to it about players with really bad win percentages/kdas getting better weapons.

Honestly it’s all speculation, there is no way to really know. Sometimes it seems like I get boltshots for an entire game, then I’ll play a game and get the good stuff. Who knows. Might be random, might not be, but who knows with 343.

I used to think it wasn’t random sometimes until one game it spawned me with a spankr prime and prophets bane. Let’s just say I got some hate messages after the game calling me a cheater lol.

I will say the one time I wanted good weapons is a game where it pitted me against Vetoed. Just gave me crap weapons all game. I managed to go positive somehow from rummaging through all the weapons on the ground. Moral of the story, randomness.

Randomness on a computer is an oxymoron. Also, the comment above already clarified weapons are weighted based on tier. That all said, the game doesn’t have a special script for you so isn’t working against you and hopefully doesn’t have a special script the winning team and losing team.

Sometimes it still seems lopsided. With one team seemingly getting plenty of heavy & AoE weapons, & the other light autos & harsh language.

I feel like I’ve spawned in with the plasma pistol and an ar like three times in a row one game. Like, not even a good plasma pistol, but the basic plain one.
