You missed the two biggest detrimental effects sprint has on Halo.
-Elongation of map scaling
-Changing Halo gameplay from run and gun to run or gun
Other points you missed
-Makes Halo feel generic or less unique
-Can cause stagnant standoffish gameplay
I like sprint
> Even if you don’t have sprint, chaotic and unskilled gameplay would still exist.
Okay, reword the argument. Sprint contributes to chaotic, unskilled gameplay. Honestly “___ still exists without ___” is a weak argument though. That might be true, but that doesn’t justify making ___ worse.
> People use sprint to lure people into chasing them, only to have the pursuer run into a nade and get headshot.
Dude, I’ve done that as far back as Ce. You don’t need sprint to punish people who chase when they shouldn’t.
> Sprint let’s you outflank people.
That goes back to map flow / map control. Makes me think of a post I’ve seen today somewhere else. Not sure how I feel about it but a specific portion of it has my interest.
Halo used to be about map control. Controlling Red base in Beaver Creek, Pink in Midship, BR3 on lockout, yeah, none of this is a factor. Controlling lanes and lines of sight no longer mean a damn thing because one player can press a -Yoinking!- button and break a setup that a team in past titles formerly would have had to achieve by slaying. Sprint actually dumbs gameplay down by promoting moving over tactical position. With Sprint there is little point to holding onto positions for long because the control is gone.
In addition to the above points, sprint when used defensively can completely turtle games. Where in past halos if you were going to die, your best option would be to trade shots. While this was partly due to the primary utility weapon(hint: DMR and H3 Br were awful), with sprint available, a players best option is to ALWAYS RUN AWAY. It’s a completely cheese move that stagnates games and makes them run way longer than they should. The killtimes of halo have never supported sprint and this trend has continued.
Off-topic, content was good. Music was the proper volume, your diction was good, you aren’t ranting like most other Halo videos, length was kept short and sweet.
Biggest issue I have with sprint is that the changes in H5 are for the worse. Unlimited sprint is a bad idea. Now you don’t even have a timer on how long you can run and clamber means you can’t catch up with someone with superior movement skill. Delayed shield recharge slows gameplay by forcing players out of fights for even longer periods of time.
Instead, just make it so you can only sprint when you have full shields. Dropping below 100% kicks you out of sprint and forces you to fight.
I’m okay with sprint, but making it unlimited may not be the best idea for it.
I’m stoked sprint is in. I almost quit my halo career in h3 when I first played and realized it didn’t have sprint. Feels antiquated to me.

According to your profile you didn’t even play H2…Quiting a franchise after the first game you play is not quiting a “career”, it’s simply not bonding with the franchise at all…
But yes, sprint hurts Halo’s gameplay
Sprint is needed. There’s no going back now.
Halo Reach was the start.
Halo 4 gave us sprint because it’s what “we” wanted
Halo 5 has it and would feel wierd and tacky without it
Now sprint made halo different but it had to evolve and it can only evolve in so many ways without sprint.
It changes the way any halo player plays but its not game breaking.
My vote:
#keepSprint
No, I don’t think it is. I think the way 343i have implemented it this time around seems to provide a good balance which I’m sure will be tweaked in a patch.

No, it isn’t.
So many sprint threads…
Honestly just deal with it.
Warzone NEEDS it.
It doesn’t matter either way in my opinion, Halo is Halo

Competitive play does not
No sprint is not killing Halo. The community is killing Halo.

True. It it also will end up fine with it.
competitive derp derp they run away derp derp
I am map control BR master derp derp.
Seriously I love halo, I always have. But my main gripe is when the other team controls your spawn and you just get spawn killed over, and over, and over by the BR and 'nades. How is this fun??? How Is that fun for the team doing it or the team receiving it?
yay we’re skilled because we got a,couple of kills and are now standing in one spot all game? People go on about the importance of map flow but state that competitive is controlling “certain locations” so…you dont move? Meaning the map isn’t flowing…right?
movement options (including sprint) help stop this. I can surprise an enemy by clambering out of that hell hole of a forced spawn that’s getting wrecked by nades, I can sprint
to the next part of cover.
Also I hear people say keep it in warzone but leave it out of arena. That would just be jarring. Losing a core mechanic would throw people all over the place.

From what I’ve seen from the tournaments, that seems to happen even when they don’t have sprint
