Is spartna ops even gonna bother mentioning important characters.
Like where the -Yoink- is the chief. Or what the -Yoink- happened to cortana. or if the didact is alive?
So far in spartan ops, you haven’t even heard the word “cortana” mentioned. “master chief” was mentioned around twice, I think. Once was lasky saying some -Yoink- about the chief finding the librarian AI and another when 1 of the spartan 4s said it, but each time had nothing to do with his whereabouts. The didact’s name has been mentioned but only as a reference to “the didact’s right hand.” I mean wtf.
Are they trying to make this -Yoink- irrelevant to the storyline or just building up suspense? Probably both.
Thats kinda what halo 5 is for

thats kinda not what my thread is for
If you haven’t finished campaign, then… SPOILER ALERT…
Cortana didn’t survive. They haven’t talked about Chief because he isn’t meant to be in the story. I find the captions sometimes go by too quickly so I have to watch the episode again to catch everything. And the writing has been mediocre at best. “eggheads”, forced humor that isn’t really funny, and such. I really want to like Palmer, but it isn’t easy.

“Like where the -Yoink!- is the chief. Or what the -Yoink!- happened to cortana. or if the didact is alive?”
That is what halo 5 is for. They arent going to explain that in spartan ops because it would spoil the campaign for halo 5.
sparten ops is the same crap every episode
I thought Spartan ops missions were going on while the chief is doing his missions. You know these Spartans going around doing the crap jobs while chief is hunting down the didact. Or did the infinity decide to come back to requiem after they went back to earth from requiem and “clean up”?
They wouldn’t give spoilers like that on Spartan Ops. Thats for Halo 5
Spartan ops is very repetitive and small scale. It would be horrid design to explain that information when they could do it much better with a campaign experience, i.e. halo 5.
Spartan Ops missions take place six months after the campaign.
spartan ops is just there to expand a little on the world not to actually carry on the storyline. it might have a few things later on but seems like it’s mainly just whats happening with that artifact.

Actually, that’s a good point.

I guess you missed the fact that in Spartan Ops, Lasky is a Captain. That may provide a hint as to where in the time line these episodes take place.
Edit: Aside from the obvious date stamp at the start of episode 1.
Chief, Cortana, and Didact in Spartan Ops? I think they’re appearance is a little too valuable for small episodic missions. With short-scaled missions and objects, Spartan Ops is just intended to expand upon the backstory of Halo 4. If you want another fulfilling adventure with the Chief, you’re probably best off waiting for Halo 5.
I honestly prefer it this way. We should let Spartan explore the secondary characters and backstory. I honestly want to learn more about the likes of Palmer, Jul, Thorn, and Halsey. Don’t just include characters like the Chief simply for the sake of it.
Damn it I thought your op said ‘is Spartan Ops ever going to be worth mentioning’ because that’d have been a good point.
But I’m glad Chief is staying out of this. He’s overrated, he’s lame to play as. He should not steal the show like he did in FuD (“if you want stay alive, stay behind me”). He’s best as a campaign exclusive character.
