I’m probably not the only one who thinks Spartan Ops isn’t feeling like a second campaign. If 343 actually showed our spartans in the in-game cutscenes (besides being in a lucky spot where the camera is aiming, not the episode videos you watch before playing any missions, and let us fly into the play area in the back of a pelican instead of just spawning there, and letting us actually board it at the end of a mission,it would be 10X better. On the mission “Pelican Down”, if we actually walked out of the crashed pelican instead of seeing a puff of smoke in the cutscene, it would have been a way better mission. They are SO close to having a second campaign. But all the missions are missing a beginning and an end. It’s like we are playing the middle of a campaign mission. No Pelican drop-offs, no exfiltrations. Just spawning and fading the screen to black. Add a little more, and it will go along way. I bet 343 got rushed to make season 1, so they may add more immersive things for next season. I was just hoping for all of those things in season 1. But, we shall see.
its alright, i kinda like it, more screentime for my spartan would always be good though.

While I like playing Spartan Ops, I too agree that it isn’t as immersive as they had made it out to be before the game came out. I too was hoping for cutscenes that showed your Spartan walking around. Kinda like in Reach. Spartan Ops could easily be the classic “Halo” where you are the faceless warrior fighting the good fight. But instead it just comes off as a half hearted attempt at spicing up Fire Fight.
I personally think it’s boring as hell and too short. Most of the missions I’ve played are the same go to point A, move on to point B and defend until something happens. Not fun at all.
I also think it’s really sad how 343i can’t even fix the co-op delay lag problems that Bungie couldn’t seem to fix either. Come on, it’s been five damn years and the same problem is still here.
All I can say is give them the benefit of the doubt that they were rushed, and wait for season 2. Let’s hope season 2 has all of that, and has good missions. A Pelican fly-in can’t save a crappy mission. Let’s hope they don’t throw all the great stuff in season 1 and run out of ideas.
