I was very good with Sniper in halo 3, 4 and Reach. In last Chapter for me is impossible use this weapon. Why? What is the difference between Old Sniper and Halo infinite Sniper?
Is it more hard for you too ?
I feel like it depends on hit detection more than anything. Some games i hit the money shot almost every time, other times I’m using the cursed Halo sniper.
A few potential reasons.
-
Most people haven’t put any effort into setting up their sticks. Plenty of vids around. AverageCody has done a couple of excellent ones. You need to set your axial and dead zones. Plus thresholds.
-
You may need to slow down your sensitivity at zoom. It’s OK to drop it back a bit (especially if your run look sensitivity on the high side. The Sniper is 5x on first zoom.
-
Practice. You have a shooting range in the Academy.
-
The reticule doesn’t stick like in Halo 5. You can’t just swipe across the target and shoot anymore.
-
Yes. It probably is a bit harder. But not that much harder. At least according to a couple of reasonably competent players I hang with. Personally I’m -yoink-.
This iteration of the Sniper seems to have the least amount of reticle magnetism ever in a Halo title for those playing on controller. I also believe it doesn’t have any bullet magnetism whatsoever which may also be a first in the franchise. Point is, this is the most difficult to use iteration of the Sniper rifle in the franchise by design.
Honestly, the biggest improvement that could be made to the Infinite sniper is decreasing the zoom. in the other games the zoom is X5 and X10. but infinite is X10 and X20. I never use the X20 since I can see all the way across a BTB map with just the X10. and the X10 zoom is a bit of a detriment on the 4v4 arena maps, as there is way too much zoom that all you can see is an ultra close up of the wall on the far side of the map.
Additionally, the reticle is much smaller that it has been in the past. I know for certain that I actually have trouble seeing it some times, so a reasonable increase in the reticle size would greatly help.
This is me for sure! Like no scopes feel easy peasy and other times I can’t hit water falling out of a boat in the ocean.
It is definitely much harder to use, but it can be used really well. Just takes a lot of practice to get really good at it.
Hilariously, Team Snipers is actually terrible practice, because nobody’s gunning you down with different weapons.
If you compare, the reticle circle is much smaller. But im sure they probably just have the bullet magnetism much lower for headshots to be more precise, as, you can barely his no scopes sometimes.
The biggest reason for me why Infinite’s sniper is hard is because aim feel is so wholly off.
The aim acceleration curve when you are only doing partial stick movements is about half as high as we are used to in Halo, and then at full stick movement it ramps up very quickly. So there’s a really jarring transition between partial and full stick movement that makes sniping (and looking around in general) feel choppy instead of snappy.
Infinite’s sniper also has less bullet magnetism than ever before, which is visually indicated by it’s much smaller reticle. So even if the aiming itself felt smoother, it would still be a bit harder than ever. But at least it would be harder for a good reason.
the aiming is garbage no matter how you set your settings.
this sniper is the worst one yet as well.
slow and clunky.
Depends. Are using XB1, Series X or PC?
The performance is so poor on XB1 it makes the sniper unusable.
That said, it’s my least favorite sniper in the series.
on KB/M it’s a decent challenge getting no scopes in MP, in campaign don’t really have any major issues though. Hit detection is crap sometimes.
Well, the Sniper doesn’t have aim assist and is definitely the hardest rendition for controller users. You can no longer swipe the sniper of your opponents head and score a headshot like in Halo 5, so it’s much more difficult to land those shots.
It’s pretty easy on mouse and keyboard honestly since you don’t have aim assist anyways and it just acts as a two tap weapon or one tap if you can hit the head.
I am a little concerned about KB&M players receiving aim assist on the Sniper rifle. How powerful will it prove to be online? And will its effectiveness skew oddly across the skill spectrum?
So do you prefer Halo Infinite Sniper or Others Halo Sniper?
