# Is Silver the new Bronze grind ?

When I first start playing Halo 5 I realize that bronze - silver - gold is the best way to buy paq’s beside the chance of permanent unlock on bronze.

Now I have notice a change on the system for newer players, where bronze are no longer giving the amount of Armour they did for me at the beginning.

As an update to the community I have made this math for newer player on this Req system

Note : for an accurate result I will remove****emblems and the randomness of bronze unlocks

• **Bronze Grind =**112 permanent unlock
112 paq’s x 1250 RP = 140,000 RP

• **Silver grind =**186 Uncommon
260 Rare

446 / 2 unlocks per pack = 223 packs X 5000 RP = 1,115,000 RP

• If we want to skip bronze grind and buy only silvers the grind will be:112 + 446 / 2 unlocks per pack = 279 packs X 5000 RP = 1,395,000 RP

So… 1,395,00 VS 1,115,000 this means that 280,000 RP more expended in bronze items

bronze grind is 140,000 RP with a 100% unlock rate, and
bronze grind is 280,000 RP in Silver paq’s

so, in conclusion you need to unlock one item each two bronze paq’s to actually worth investing RP in bronze.

Your RP worth more in a Silver only than Bronze - Silver - Gold

I bought over 50 Bronze packs in on day and I was stocked on everything they offer. I’ll buy them randomly now but I got everything I needed. I would recommend just getting that out of the way ASAP tbh

I agree. This is how I did it. This reminds me of my REQ grind. It seems that it would never end. But it did, you will get there!

I’ve got around about 104k Req points banked. Not sure whether I should blow it all on packs or hold out in the slim hope’s of a cool limited edition pack coming out soon.

Here is my solution. I keep aside a minimum of 500,000 REQ points just for special packs. I also stockpile gold, silver, bronze, daily login, daily win packs in Arena, WZ, and WZFF for the updates. Since the last update, I also have two anniversary, one season 8, and one commendation pack. When the drop comes, I will be opening packs for ever. I’m having a hard time not opening them. At least I have the REQ sweats under control.

Approx how many hours did it take you to finish grinding (I’m assuming you did not spend any real money).

Not sure on the amount of hours. I was completed everything that was available through the REQ system by level 130. Did not spend any real cash, only REQ points. I was on a quest to get everything, but then they dropped these packs only available with real cash, so the quest came to an end.

I’m still annoyed about that. I’m more annoyed about the legendary weapon packs or whatever they were called though.

Truth! Just takes forever!

Wouldn’t an already generated pack AKA one you keep without opening, not have anything from new content as it was received before that content dropped?

It does not matter when you got it. When you open it, it digs into what is availible at that time.

I did the same, until I got on the forums and learned the better way.

maybe saving it.

how far are you to complete silver or gold ?

when moth of mythic came out I spend a lot of req’s but got like 60 k back as I already got the certifications.

Most people I know just skipped bronze cause it was chance unlock and just did silvers first then gold

how you got all bronze in 50 packs as there are 112 permanent unlocks and only one per paq ?

maybe a few silvers in the way ?

Well I only got 50 in one day. I’d been buying them beforehand but only 1-3 at a time

That’s what I did as well. The only thing you miss out on by not opening bronze packs are the Mongoose variants, and I’m more than fine not having those. I had everything unlocked at SR113, do it worked out well for me. The only money I spent was to buy the Arena REQ bundle thing (alongside the Warzone REQ bundle that came with my copy of the game).
