Is Red Vs Blue canon?

Forgive any and all errors made in this post, I have a fuzzy memory on the Red Vs Blue universe.

Ever since the start of Season 11 on Exile, I’ve been thinking about how Red Vs Blue may tie into the canon, if at all. I mean, it was licensed by Bungie, and eventually 343, was it not? So does that make Red Vs Blue part of the Halo Universe? Are Sarge and Wash and all the characters we love out there debating about red or blue, while the Chief is out there kicking Covenant -Yoink-?

Here’s what I’m getting from this. Red and Blue teams were placed in Blood Gulch outpost by Project Freelancer. Project Freelancer had stolen Spartan armor from ONI, and that’s what made the Director such a bad guy, and by default, the Reds, Blues, and Freelancers as well.

Does this really happen? And I find it weird that I don’t remember the word Spartan being said once in the entire 11 seasons. So it really begs the question in my mind, is Red vs Blue canon?

Short answer: No.

No, it just mixes in halo references because its made using halo.

lol. Is this a real question?

> lol. Is this a real question?

It actually isn’t, and my reply doesn’t exist either. This is all a simulation where all real jokes are fake ones.

Short answer: No

Long answer: It references Halo from time to time, but give guys power armor that costs as much to build as a starship and have them stand around and act like idiots is a little far fetched.

What everyone else said.

Certainly not.

If I remember correctly, when asked about it Burnie said;

“RedvsBlue exists in the time frame between throwing you 360 controller out of frustration, and the moment it impacts the wall and shatters.”

No. Roosterteeth has at least tried to make it clear that RVB is a completely Separate story from halo. It is just made in a halo skin, and has a few obligatory references.

No, they just make references to Halo since, you know, it’s made in Halo.

Here is my conspiracy theory on this subject. I do not think that the story arc of Red vs Blue is canon in the Halo universe, but the Easter eggs in spartan ops got me thinking “what if the characters from RvB exist in the Halo universe without their story arc.” Something that supports this is that in some of the RvB shorts, where characters give comic advice on various things, the characters introduce them selves by saying “Hi, I’m [insert name here] from the popular web series Red vs. Blue.” This sounds like they are saying that their character is real, but Red vs. Blue is just a made up web series. And what if its true. What if the show Red vs. Blue is a popular web series in the Halo universe as well as our own universe, and is made by real life version of the Grif, Caboose, Simmons, etc. when they’re not delivering “Giant Robots” to fire team Crimson. I would think it would be cool to see the Red vs. Blue actually exist in the Halo universe even if there story arc doesn’t.

Definitely not.

Nice Necro thread…

Actually, Red vs Blue IS canon, and the rest of the Halo Universe is just a spin off.

I shouldn’t tell you that, but all Halo is real, and we are just inside the mind of Chief while he is in cryo at the start of CE and between H3-H4. He’s dreaming that everything is just a game, and that we play it and make machinima like RvB

Only references Halo.
