Is Reach a Lost Cause?

Are there too many problems?

Is Reach in triage, with 343 only fixing what they can before moving on?

Lets get a poll on public opinion here…Is Reach too far gone?

It has it’s problems, mostly from a competitive and (in my opinion) gameplay standpoint. The default offerings are abysmal, however things are improving with 343 updating the game for everyone. If 343 had no plans to support Reach, then i would question Reach’s future. Since they are, such thoughts are not worth mentioning further.

While i believe Halo Reach is just buying time for Halo 4, we still have a year to go. Things could change for the better or worse. That’s how i feel about Reach right now.

Reach isn’t dead (nor is Halo) because even though there players (like myself) who heavily criticize Reach, we’ll still play this game because it’s still Halo and we care. Even with Reach, it still provides a unique FPS experience that’s not a COD clone .

However, i won’t put up with default pre TU settings. While some will say “adapt, you’re bad!”, i can play on those settings no problem. It doesn’t mean they are good though nor does it dismiss the problems associated with default. Adapting is one thing, liking is another.

Reach is awesome,
the finished TU makes me put a lot of things into question and makes me lump pre TU reach and halo 3 lolspread in the same dumpster.
Squad slayer master race.

Reach is fine as it is. It’s still not perfect, but between the TU game modes and beautiful DLC, 343 has done what they can to improve the game, and I think that it’s, at least, enough to hold most people until Halo 4.

Reach has been salvaged - and this is coming from one of its biggest critics. The TU changes make it 100x more enjoyable. Not to mention competitive play is flourishing in the MLG playlist now with ZB and NS.

Now if they could just fix Arena…

Lost cause? No. There have been many changes and updates. Reach certainly has been evolving as of late. Don’t get caught up in the population popularity contest. If we were to cave into that type of thinking, the next game would be a CoD rip off with a H4 logo on the cover.

I still enjoy it anyway. Also had a few great nights with the guys at RToz (Rooster Teeth Australia community group) Last weekend we had a custom game night which was fun and today we had an achievement hunting sesh, which was hilarious. Halo Reach is a great game to muck around of and have a laugh with mates. Only downside is that it lacks a competitiveness and is more oriented towards the casual player.

The TU has helped. The majority of people have moved on to MW3. The true Halo players (like myself) will still play Reach up until the day H4 comes out.

yes, trying to fix something that can’t be fixed because there is nothing to fix because there is nothing broken is a lost cause.

Yes.

I hope the game continues to do poorly and is a graveyard by the time Halo 4 arrives so that 343 will realise Reach was the worst Halo game ever made, even worse than Halo Wars IMO.
