Is quitting ever justified?

This is a good strategy to help yourself and your family.

I hope in a few years for you that you can play video games with your two children. One day fellow Spartan.

I had a teammate a while back who left mid-match because his wife went into labor. So yes.

It doesn’t need justification. We have no obligations to any one else in the match.

Yes, yes and yes. We’re technically still living in a free world: you’re free(ish) to do what you want.

Yes it is. Actual life is more important than a game… especially a broken game.

That’s real. Honestly, my only time to play is either during my lunch break (via xCloud on the phone), or after the kids are in bed.

Remember the days when you could play Halo 2 or 3 for eight+ hours straight through the night? Lol.

Personally I’m very much down the never quit route. If it’s such an onesided game it will be over fast anyway

I own the game, it does not own me. So it is always justified. But in this example? No. Not at all. Don’t judge books by their covers unless they’ve got punisher skulls, toupees, or blue stripes - that’s fine. But since none of that’s in Halo, we don’t really have a way to do that, lol.

Now if you need a particular challenge… Yeah. Quit. Go for it.

yes i was playing highlands on reach MCC this morning and the enemy team somehow glitched their flag below the map after they capped ours once, so no matter my team couldn’t win

Only if you can’t pay the game. Example: I started a match with no hud. Never came back on, so I quit. I think that was justified

i mean im not gonna stay in a game when it (frequently, dont be an oceania player) joins me to 300 ping unstable latency servers.

I basically never quit… apart from in this tactical ops event. I’ve grinded through a playlist I don’t like to get all the unlocks but now I am on the weekly ultimate which requires mangler swat…. I’ve had about 5 games in a row without mangler showing up. At this point I am justified in quitting until I get one. I am not wasting any more of my time in this god awful playlist than is necessary

If the game loads and it’s ā€œLaunch Siteā€, you best be sure I’m quitting out.

I do! I miss those days lol.

What about if your dragging your Team down. Suppose your 1-9 and if you keep this up, your team will never hope to win.
We’ve all seen matches where the weaker player on a skilled team that’s losing, then leaves, and they make a comeback.

I hate it when people go afk but the only time I quit is when I need a challenge that requires a certain weapon but I don’t get that weapon. I did that until I got banned for a few minutes so I stopped

It depends a bit on the type of AFK’er. The ones that AFK from the start are bad., but the ones that AFK later on are mostly the ones that either had a IRL problem they needed to fix or are just outskilled.

With the enormous skill gaps in social the game is turning people in AFK’ers and quitters. Because what are you supposed to do when you have no fighting chance because they are always way outskilled in every firefight?
For the team it would actually be the best if they just AFK in a hiding spot so they won’t give away as much kills and that can actually be the difference between winning and losing.

As long as 343 don’t fix their non-functioning SBMM, then people will keep AFK’ing and quitting to get out of those unplayable matches. And you can’t realy blame them. A game has to be playable for everybody, not that some people are just being abused as cannon fodder.

Same with bots, if someone quits it replaces them with a bot, and the bots are so bad that they pretty much make the other team win. I would rather have a 3v4 than have a bot on my team.

Depends on the match. I am average skilled, but often when i am one of the better players in the match, the bots do fine now they are ODST. Most (that are playing longer) stay around -3 to -6 with their KDA, wich is accetable for a bot, since they should be the worst player on the team ofcourse (they often also replace the worst player on the team who else also would go with that kind of KDA). But i have seen enough even go positive. For lower skilled players however, those bots can even be to much already.

I have had a match (slayer in quick play) where my team lost simply because the enemy team had 2 bots. Only me and the 2 bost had positive kDA’s My teammates where being absolutely wrecked by those bots and i then often had to fight a 1v2 or even 1v3 after that. To be honest i was to good for those other players who were obviously lesser skilled (again the problem with the SBMM), but the bots can definitely be to good for some players, since they can snipe with pistols or AR from far and they are just killing machines with a needler.

I think the strengh of the bots that spawn in should just be dependend from the match. Lesser skilled players should have the marine bots, average skilled players the ODST ones and higher skilled players the spartan ones.
