Is quitting ever justified?

No wonder Michael The Mic is depressed whenever he goes to your place.

You never talk to him or acknowledge his presence.

aaaand? so what, are you going to toss a hissy fit over someone who isn’t constantly communicating with people in any online game? overwatch, team fortess, call of duty, etc… just because it allows me to do so, doesn’t mean i’m going to use it or want to. what if i don’t want to communicate with people? what if i’m bad at making callouts thus could say something entirely wrong? i’d be giving my team dis-information

okay, fair point… not nessesairily tryharding. that’s my bad

because i’m simply annoyed that a basic feature that is practically in every other game isn’t? it’s like wanting an apple, but it’s random so you can get 3 other fruits… you don’t mind the fruits, but after a while… you’re just going to want the apple with no care of the other options. because removing player option is ALWAYS a good idea… right?

okay… but what if i enjoy infinite? it has its problems, but i do enjoy it to an extent. specifically the gameplay with its oddball… but i guess i can’t enjoy what i find fun because of annoying and unnsessairy RNG

saying i shouldn’t play the game ‘period’ when i can do what i want isn’t negative too?
and you’re the one seemingly having a hissy arguement over a person not playing the game YOU want me to play. i’m just mad over annoying RNG… not over how people play the game in a SOCIAL playlist

Listen, I’ve given you plenty of responses, and at this point you are only trying to argue for the sake of arguing. I disagree, and I’ve given you my thoughts, and the thoughts of a majority of the community has already been said here. You are not a team member, and are the exact type of player most people would not want on their team. I will back out of the conversation, and allow you to continue to spout the nonsense you feel is appropriate. Toodles.

I don’t play when my kid is up/around purely because he doesn’t need to watch an FPS at his age.

I can attest that Medic_Fox_4 is actually a great team member. Sure MF4 doesn’t communicate via mic, but they do ping enemies and have your back with a rifle when you need him/her.

It’s the internet, and you can say whatever you’d like, especially if they are your friend, and you’ve played with them before.

If it’s ranked, don’t. It hurts so much to quit in ranked because you get penalize with a derank. Or loss of ranked points. Just let yourself get trashed to save what’s left of your rank.

Quick Play? Social playlist? Yeah, quitting is justified. If you have challenges, yeah, go ahead and quit to finish them faster.

Of course it is. If real life calls, you gotta do what you gotta do right. Real life takes presidents over Halo… unfortunately

If you’re quitting for another reason, Well then it’s debatable.

Also, just because people are wearing default armor, doesn’t mean they’re rookies or not very good As by the sounds of it you found out  FYI I wear a lot of default armor and I am consistently a low onyx high diamond player. If I played more regularly I’m quite convinced I could be mid to upper onyx player. As the saying goes “One shouldn’t judge a book by its cover” So just because you see someone wearing default armor doesn’t mean they’re crap  Personally, I just don’t really care about cosmetic stuff too much anymore, haven’t for a lot of years.

Yeah launch site gets a lot of hate and I can understand it for 4-4 slayer but man, that map on 1 flag is amazing! I’ve never really liked one flag that much but I really like that mode of play on that map a lot!!! I find it really fun!

Sucks theres only like 3 maps per mode, and none of them are really good…

In any other Halo game I don’t think it’s ok to quit on your team, unless there is a good reason ofc.
But in Infinite we can’t blame anyone for quitting. The challenge system encourages quitting.

They need to kick players who stand still for 20 seconds or don’t move for 3 kills
This is a huge issue that needs to be addressed, be there at the beginning or back to the menu you go

Quitting because of cheaters is justifiable.
No one should actively have to try to combat cheating on the playing field, in fact, if people quit more on cheaters it may even discourage them from cheating, or playing.
They don’t play along the rules of the game, as with any other circumstance in any other game, players will leave and call the cheater out. MtG, Warhammer, Poker etc.
A judge doesn’t come along and tell you to try and beat the cheater. The match has zero value, cheater is disqualified or told to not cheat ( if it’s not a tournament ), chances are few will play against that player again.

You are free to stay and challenge yourself in beating cheaters, but don’t pretend others to spend the same amount of energy after having entered a match expecting actual fair play.

Are you seriously suggesting people “git gud” against lag switching? ( Not that it works that well on dedicated servers ).
Git gud applies only in a few cases in my opinion, and combatting cheating isn’t one of those areas.

There are times quitting is justified, the game is just super laggy, something important came up in real life, most of your team has quit and/or idling, and of course if they are legit cheating. Other than that you should finish games. Yes I have quit games and yeah I have been banned, only the really short one minute ban or however long it is, but the players who complain about have long bans have definitely earned them. Just wish there was way better AFK detection. Also I feel players who quit excessively should eventually end up in the quitters pool where they are more likely to play with other quitters since quitting in no biggie to them.

My comments are already posted above, there is no good reason to leave the game, unless there are situations in real life that require your attention. If it isn’t long, don’t leave the game, just run into a corner and then come back when you’re finished. If it’s too long, leave.
I stand behind everything I have ever put down on this site, or any other site. So re-read what I stated.

Yes. If it’s a slayer game and you’re currently 1-14, please quit, for the greater good.
