Quitting is justified under the following circumstances:
Someone on the enemy team is using external cheats for an unfair advantage
The enemy team effectively keeps you spawn trapped preventing you from doing anything the entire game, in this situation you SHOULD NOT just “deal with it” as many on the forums will say, you should quit, if you’re supposed to think of the “enjoyment of others” above your own, then you’ll never enjoy the game yourself. This is the one non-cheating circumstance where quitting is 110% justified every time it happens.
Lag Switchers, n’uff said.
Real life emergencies. If a close family member or friend wound up in the Hospital under bizarre circumstances, and they are in REALLY bad shape, as in life threatening, then you SHOULD quit out of your game, get in your car, and go make sure everything is on the up and up. Even if it isn’t, a friend or family member is in need of support, and you shouldn’t prioritize a video game, even when someone you care about gets into a freak accident or has a serious health issue.
Yes. I quit a match where it was 1 v 3… No, I’m not flaming my teammates - I was the only person on the team. This happened once but I consider quitting that game 100% justified.
1, Yes, yes it is, if a player is using invincibility with aimbot you are 100% justified in quitting.
Git Gud isn’t a valid argument when there’s literally NOTHING you can do to get out of being spawnkilled instantly by an entire enemy team.
If my internet goes from fine to dogwater over the course of a single match, as in I’m teleporting, then I’m quitting, I can’t hit anyone and they sure as hell can’t hit me, that’s no fun for anyone.
4,. Given how -Yoink!- this community is about quitting and how most don’t seem to understand what “real world situations” actually are, personally I’ll quit any match where I’m unable to enjoy the actual game, I’ll deal with whatever ban comes my way, and honestly, other players enjoyment of the game isn’t my concern.
If I go into a game expecting to actually have fun where I get spawnlocked I’ll quit and to Hell with anyone who says “Oh ypu’re ruining the experience for the other players!” To that I say “I missed the part where that’s MY problem.”
No. Kill their teammates. If you can’t then again… don’t play.
You know what’s coming. Get Gud
Could just be that you have a Wal-Mart connection, or someone in your household is downloading bad videos for naughty time.
You are what is wrong with Halo, I think if you can’t play a game because you can’t win, you will never get better at Halo, and should probably just find something else to do. Again, Get Gud
Edit wanted to add this in
You ARE the problem. YOU are what people hate dealing with, a quitter just because you can’t kill people? Because you don’t have the ability to play well, you feel everyone else should suffer because of YOUR lack of skill? Wooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow.

Yes 100% justified…when the task is win 5 matches of X, and you’ve won 4 but now you’re only facing clans who play together and win 50 to 12, it is 100% justified to quit. The matchmaking/weapons/game type are 100% rigged against you finishing them.
No, quit the game, as in HALO, not individual games. Quit playing. Either you play through, or you don’t play at all. That is absolutely ridiculous, and shows you don’t have any commitment, or skill to play the game.

i mean… if i want to get oddball, and i get every other gamemode for the next 6 games that i don’t want to play (slayer, ctf, and territories) i wont just quit… i’l just alt+f4. if 343 is going to be anti-player, then i ain’t treating that with respect
So you want everyone else to pay for your inability to play through what you have already started? Seriously? If you have committed to starting a game, finish it, then quit playing. All of your team mates have to suffer because of your inability to put up with the RNG of the game mode YOU SELECTED.

Sigh, that insult was unnecessary. You quit games, and cause people to deal with the fallout. Regardless of the reason, unless it’s a real life situation, you should not be quitting the game you are playing and cause everyone else to deal with it afterwards.

okay, look, for the first couple matches, sure. but if i want to play oddball… i’m going to play oddball, and not a gamemode i dislike such as CTF. getting any other mode for the next 7 games at that point is just annoying because i don’t want to play those modes. if i wanted to play slayer, i’l select team slayer.
but you know what? you’re right, to avoid suffering players, i’l just not play quickplay and intern not halo infinite. instead a different halo that has a seperate playlist for it. as 343 is incapable of providing the playerbase a seperate playlist for things such as teritories, ctf, and oddball. due to their terrible game coding
I agree, but I can understand people getting upset with the awful system 343 created and just closing the entire game, and most matches let players replace you anyway.
I quit maybe 1 in 250 matches…and only when it’s so skewed it wouldn’t even matter. But yes I 100% think it is justified in the right situations. Both rigged matches (and yes people do cheat in Halo, so why stay in the game with cheaters), and when the wife or kids need something, totally justified. It’s just a game, not life and death.
You doing that is exactly what is wrong with the people playing Halo these days.
Let me guess, you also don’t have a mic, don’t provide any callouts, aren’t a team player, etc. Right? Because if you cannot even play the game in the selection that YOU selected (I.E. Arena), then you quit because you didn’t get what you wanted… you should not be playing the game period.

Doesn’t always happen. There have been plenty of games where a team mates quit, and they were replaced with bots, then another quit… another bot. So, 2 v 4, with 2 bots that do nothing but pad the other players’ stats. They don’t always get replaced, and just because they can does not justify you quitting. It shows you are NOT a team player, and shouldn’t be playing a team based game type, or game.

i infact do… however, some people do not wish to communicate. besides, it is not a requirement
i’m not a sweaty tryhard, so no. again, not a requirement
depends on your definition. when i’m able to play the gamemode i desire, instead of a toss of the dice i have no control of, yeah, i’l happily give the match a go with an solid attempt to win
after i don’t get the gamemode i want after a few tries, then yeah. maybe if 343 learned from past games, i’d be a happier camper with being able to select multiple SPECIFIC playlists cough cough MCC couch cough
with that attitude, you’re the reason people perceive the community as negative -v-
Yeah, it actually does justify it.
The person who replaces them will likely have more desire to play the match, which means they’ll likely do better.
When you’ve played your best through several matches without getting the mode or whatever else you wanted, it’s likely you’ll be drained and frustrated by the time you’re thinking about quitting, which will likely make you do worse.
I’m a tryhard (I don’t sweat much though) who often marks enemies (I don’t use my mic)…
