You load into a CTF match, and your teammates are all wearing default armor. One teammate quits during the opening cinematic, and the other two remain AFK at first. Is quitting justified in this scenario?
I will add that they ended up doing two of our three captures. It was an example of me judging books by their covers.
With how 343 has designed challenges and other things, they made the quitting problem themselves, let people play what they want, instead of forcing them to play modes they don’t simple solution.
No, try to beat them. If you’re not able to, just wait in the background and try to get some kills to negate the deaths. It’ll end quicker, and in less time than if you’d have to wait for the ban. Tada.

My back hurts whenever I play from carrying my teams, I still don’t quit. But then again, I think it’s hilarious when I take out 3 or 4 of the other team solo, so I guess I’m just a bit different.

Uh, because it literally impacts everyone else that is playing’s game because you did not want to play a specific game type and acting like a 6 year old throwing a tantrum by quitting is bad for the experience in general.

Majority of the time, the person quitting is most likely just selfish and doesn’t value anyone’s fun for the game except their own. But there are legitimate reasons to leave a match:
Game Crash - Can’t be helped. Now, if they crash all the time, I would say they need to stop trying to join matches and try to address the problem. I won’t excuse ignoring the problem because you don’t care to fix it and you constantly crash, ruining other peoples fun.
Something important comes up, and no, if they’re back searching for a new match 1-5 minutes later, that wasn’t important enough in my eyes. It’s nothing short of an excuse to try and justify why you “just had to leave” and nothing more.
Obvious cheater on the other team. I’ll add this.
That’s about it really…
Quitters were a big enough problem in previous Halos ( all the way back to Halo 2 even ) that they had to address it. People were getting really frustrated when their games were getting ruined minutes into matches because of some snobby little brat jumped ship on a regular basis.
Quitting is usually an action taken when you don’t have the ability to continue playing so that hopefully somebody can take your place to keep the game going. People just like to make excuses to not actually play the game just because they can’t do the challenges right away.
If you’re quitting for real life situations, I get that. And you usually won’t get any reprecussions.
However, if you just quit because you don’t want to play that type, or that map, or whatever… you shouldn’t be playing period.

That would be a real life situation, and is completely understandable. That being said, you should also probably not be playing videogames while your children are awake, and around at such young ages. What happens if they are eating paint, or glue… or hell, even playing with a fork near an electrical socket?

You shouldn’t be playing games in the first place if you cannot manage your kids then. At least not team oriented matches were you’re actively letting your team down.
Stop playing and then manage your children to you know they’ll behave. If you just slap them on the wrist then go back to playing and search for a new match, then I’m going to have to say you deserve the ban. You clearly need to be paying more attention to you’re children first so in this instance 343i is doing you a favor.
I never quit out of a match regardless, I don’t want to disrespect the team I’m on, if other team pro’s then fine, it can only help me to get better, and more satisfying when taking out someone who has 12 kills and no deaths.
I play for fun, the only time I have quit is when there are spawn killers, which makes it 100% pointless as you can’t even do anything
