So I’ve played 10 matches online on Team Arena and got my rank as Platinum 1. Is that a good rank?
It’s not bad, the ranking seems a bit funny though at the moment I’ve seen people with worse stats than you placed higher. The next rank for you would be Diamond 6 if you go up.

Platinum bros, unite! We both seem to have similar stat ranges and I have platinum 1 too so I guess the system works. Would be intersting for 343 to post a breakdown of how your CSR is exacly calculated. It’s obviously not just a matter of KDR.

You sure you go to Diamond 6, I was platinum 1 and won a few games and got promoted to platinum 2

Sorry just checked I got it the wrong way round, I thought before you got to Onyx you started in division 6 and worked your way to division 1. It actually the other way around so yeah you have gone up a rank. You need to get to Platinum 6 before you reach Diamond 1.

I played my 10 placement games in Team Arena, lost 8 and won 2. Only dropped below 2.0 K/D in one of those games and got put in Platinum. I was pretty happy with it, as I expected to be in Bronze with that W/L ratio, but I’ve had Platinum’s on my team in a few games who have gone something like 2 - 18. I don’t know how it works out your division, especially with the random social-esque matchmaking in the placement games…

They don’t mean anything until Onyx where you can see your CSR and not a rank.

I am sure 343 have mentioned it somewhere and others keep mentioning around on the forums. I know am sure there is a limit to the amount of people who can reach onyx and I think 2500 is the top end of the scale.

Exactly. Ranks right now (and in my opinion for the first month) means nothing. Thousands of players have yet to install the game, stats and ranks are reseted constantly for many others, bugs are waiting to be adressed etc etc… Don’t get overexcited or depressed about your rank right now.
I am sure that it will just take some time to settle out as far as the ranking goes but right now, ranks don’t mean much. I don’t even understand how it works. My buddies and I all played our 10 together. I was usually at the top of the scoreboard. Our buddy who was negative in all but one match was put into diamond, the rest were put into platinum. It just doesn’t make much sense at the moment.

I know, I don’t know if I will be able to find it. I have a feeling I may have read it on the team beyond forums from a post by Josh at some point maybe. Like I doubt I will find it though I don’t fancy going through hundreds of pages and posts.
Do we know what date the ranks reset? Is it 1st of each month?

They should put up a list of all ranks in the game so that everyone knows where they are standing (could be that i’m just missing it but i haven’t found it anywhere)
