Obviously he’s not impossible, I’m sure some legendary guys just walk all over him but damn. I’ve been playing this mode all afternoon and I’ve completed each map I’ve seen EXCEPT for Apex because of this -Yoink-. We’re lucky to get 1/2 of his health down in the 5 minuets given and he’s only 1 of three bosses needed to complete round 5.
Now, now, I’m not saying Firefight is to hard because I love the difficulty but this one encounter seems a little one sided. Even with Phaetons blazing above and tanks below you get eaten alive, the first time I got to him I had a brand spankin’ new Corp Scorp and something like 3 needles from his hand mounted weapon blew me off the face of the map.
Maybe it’s his placement on the map? Or the fact he gets a dozen elite knight bodyguards… I don’t know but he’s a pain in my -Yoink-, more so than on other maps where we kill him just fine.

Was he placed somewhere in a lot of cover? Not sure how the map changes how difficult he is.

They put him down on the beach where Tank master Rok spawns, it doesn’t really give you any good angles on him, he’s just kind of down there and his needlers destroy you at any range and if you get close he’s got an armada of knights down there. Even if you all have tanks there’s not a lot of room to maneuver around, its a terrible spot for him.
I’ve been trying a plethora of different types of strategies. Plasma casters can widdle down his health pretty well, but it’s hard when 8 incinerator blasts come towards you. I’m gonna try other tactics, one will eventually work.
Might I suggest a nuclear holocost or is that too weak for the guy?
We succeeded in killing him using multiple banshees. Tanks definitely don’t work, I’ve seen my teammates get ripped apart by that grunt mech… it simply jumps onto your tank and insta-kills you

It reminds me of the robots on halo 2 that when you saw over you you knew it was bad, these would be also a great boss for firefight
I can safely confirm a nuclear holocost is ineffective against this guy
Closest I’ve gotten was getting the Hunters to spawn right as we hit two seconds. It’s super tough. He’s easier on Sanctum. All the mobs don’t help at all. He’s OP enough as it is, with all the health and insta-kill against vehicles with his SUPER ATTACK!!. So yeah, you gotta really coordinate or something.
I didn’t think it was that hard we beat all 3 the only thing I have ever problem with is the generator on urban how the enemies spawn right on top of it before u even get there. But I have beat the first 4 games on legendary never tried on 5 yet tho.
Me and my team did not beat him thanks to 10 Knights with incineration cannons of doom and destruction. And they kept respawining!
What needs to happen is that 343 needs to cut the guard number down to two and make it so they can’t respawn. I once drove a Corp Scorpion in there and was dead before I could blink.
went up against him in a public lobby, didn’t think it was too bad. all 8 people firing on him though. 1 scorpion, a wasp and a banshee. everyone else was on BR / DMR.
Top tip, use the base up the hill and hit the canopy.
anything on that beach is a really hard kill. it seems like the bosses on the beach spawn with extra protection around them or something.
most likely its actually because they spawn with the same level of protection, but it only has to defend from 180 degrees in front of them without a worry of a flank. My team took him down with like 5 seconds left and i breathed a huge sigh of relief… then i realized there was still supposed to be another TWO bosses!
My problem with him is, that the area gets spammed by a dozen or so elite knights MULTIPLE times. Even in legendary campaign you get very few of them. It’s just too many Knights, especially since there are mythic bosses AFTER this grunt mech. It’s very clear to me that firefight has been “updated” for us to just burn and waste our REQs, as there is no other way to get through certain fights without burning multiple cards. And finally, winning firefight is not worth the req payout at all.

i think when you actually do WIN its totally worth it. my first win yesterday I got like 4 silver packs and a gold pack, plus req points.
that being said, it probably came out to about even with normal warzone when you consider that i DIDNT win like 8 times in a row after that. lol

I got 5 or so gold packs for losing. So to be honest I don’t see your point.
Also, in terms of payout I meant the RP. 2700 or so is not worth burning multiple rare or higher cards to kill bosses.

Yeah, I spawned in a Corp scorpion and got taken out in one-shot when I was behind cover by those needles. I don’t know if it was lag or a glitch, but bloody hell.

My Woodland Scorpion also got destroyed in seconds by a barrage of hellfire.
