Is Palmer The Marine From Halo Evolutions?

Quick question as i could not find on the forum.

Is Palmer the Marine from the story ‘Palace Hotel’ from Halo Evolutions? thanks.

> “Chief, I believe that I can honestly say that even though you are an honest-to-Buddha one-man death squad, and that if you were to ask nicely I’d give up my lucrative career in the Corps and start pumping out your babies just as fast as you could put them in me, there is no way I am gonna run across fifty -Yoink- meters of open terrain covered by three jackal snipers that I can see just to jump into an open vehicle. Throwing myself on a -Yoink- grenade makes more sense than that.” — Palmer to John-117

I hope not, cuz that’s one cheezy line for a major Spartan character to be based off of.

No, that marine was called Parisa.

Edit: Oh, you mean Corporal Palmer, and evidently not Chief’s childhood friend. No, they’re not the character either.

The one from the chiefs past right? No

I liked it

Same Palmer.

This page, clicking on Corporal Palmer, leads to Sara Palmer.

Sara Palmer is the Spartan-IV from Halo 4!

No she isn’t. They’re both seperate characters, and that was just an erroneous redirect on the wiki.

Well according to this article: It doesn’t mention that she’s from Halo Evolutions.

source?

Well I can’t say with definitive proof that they’re not the same character. But with absence of evidence and sheer ridiculousness of a Marine Corporal becoming a SPARTAN-IV Navy Commander in just five years, it suggest that they probably not the same characters.

While it may not be true, OP, I say kudos for a unique and interesting theory that I think most of us had never even considered before.

Good job on unique idea!

but why give them the same name? or why not just call her Emerson or another name used before but a completely different person? or simply not give her red hair?

Repeating names is not an issue with the lore of the franchise. There are lots of Halo characters which share names. For example, there’s one O’Brien from Halo Legends, and another two from both Halo 2 and Halo: The Fall of Reach. Palmer is somewhat of a common name, so I’m sure there’s multiple people in the Halo universe called Palmer.

About Palmer’s red hair, there’s also many people possessing the alleles for red hair across the Human population. Slight coincidences and shared traits do not always mean that two characters are the same; though it does open up speculation. And besides, Palmer was originally intended to have black hair in Halo 4’s development. I doubt 343i gave her red hair for teh sole sake of character continuity or for introducing a minor character from the books.

Palmer a Spartan-IV soldier herself, dismissively looks MC up and down, then snorts, “I thought you’d be taller.”
From the OXM article, they don’t meet until Halo 4

wait, can I get a link to the oxm article? I don’t remember that one.

Maybe she’s just upset that MC didn’t  the last time they were together.

This is her quote on the wiki…

“Chief, I believe that I can honestly say that even though you are an honest-to-Buddha one-man death squad, and that if you were to ask nicely I’d give up my lucrative career in the Corps and start pumping out your babies just as fast as you could put them in me, there is no way I am gonna run across fifty -Yoink- meters of open terrain covered by three Jackal snipers that I can see just to jump into an open vehicle. HA that seems highly unlikely though.

I was just about to say that as well.

I know these are probably two different characters, but having two arrogant, slightly obnoxious, redheaded female UNSC marines with the last name of Palmer seems like an amazing coincidence.
Maybe they were siblings or cousins?..

Besides, the Palmer in Halo Evolutions is an apparent leader. It makes sense that a person like this would rapidly climb the ranks and eventually volunteer for the S-IV program.
