More or less putting this post in now so it’s officially logged. Is our multiplayer spartan from Halo 4’s Spartan Ops the same spartan that we will be playing as in Infinite’s multiplayer?
A side note, would it not be cool if Infinite recognizes Spartan Ops save data and makes a mention of it somewhere? Either in a passing comment, badge, etc.
I doubt it to be honest, I guess you can say it’s you if you wanted to. Whatever suits your own personal Spartan story.
As for Spartan Ops being mentioned, I doubt that too. Spartan Ops died a very very long time ago. We never even get Season 2 of it, I can’t see them continuing that story any further.
Halo Infinite is a good point for a fresh start, I think leaving some of the lesser stuff behind isn’t too bad of a idea to be honest.
Not Majestic. More likely Crimson? Though it sounds like multiplayer is more of a reboot for our multiplayer Spartan, and we are starting fresh as if we just got our enhancements and are considered Spartan recruits.
I think the idea is that we’re playing as new Spartans who are being trained by Laurette, so not the same as from fireteam Crimson.
I think it would be a nice sentiment for your MP Spartan to be the same as you’re Crimson counterpart in Halo 4, but I don’t think they will go for that.
Given the time gap between 4 and Infinite, and the MP being more accessible, there are going to be a lot of brand new players. 343 will probably go with your Spartan being a new recruit.

And for some reason, I knew that while writing the post yet my brain still flipped the names of the fireteams…
It would be interesting, but yeah, it does seem like we’re a fresh slate and Crimson is either dead or somewhere else (likely dead). Not sure if they want to try and sweep that under the rug or if they’ll make a mention of Crimson somewhere.

It would be cool if 343 does what Bungie did with Destiny 2 with the Veteran Dialogue for Multiplayer where new Halo players would get a specific dialogue while Old Halo Players who played the Past Halo games get a a special dialogue like they’ve been in the fight for quite some time
I wouldn’t mind as long as Palmer and Miller have moved on, never to be heard from again. Although Laurette is definitely a step down.
If we end up having our Spartans in the campaign I’d prefer they keep it vague so we can keep whatever head-cannon we want for them.
