lobby chat still doesnt work and i havent seen any inkling that 343 plans to address it. why doesnt it work and why does nobody in the forums seem to care. everybody i play with hates that it doesnt work. lobby chat is so important on so many levels. it seems like a small thing but its not.
dont troll with party chat as a solution. its not a solution. party chat was originally implemented so you could chat with friends that arent playing the same game as you. it was never intended to be a solution for a lobby chat that doesnt work. party chat ruined online communication in games like halo and i absolutely hate it.
Yeah not sure why they haven’t addressed it yet, while many people just us the party chat as a work around me included. But agree this is a problem and should be getting more attention.
That’s the thing though: There is enough of a ratio of people to complain about the game and players in it that the community and fans would rather pop a party open than listen to the biased opinions: They have the right to say it publicly, but they don’t give it a second thought of who it’ll effect. It usually will shy away others from connecting with fellow fans of the franchise and prevent them to have an awesome time! Plus a lot of 2, 4, and 8 man groups in Halo 5: Guardians can be found playing as a well coordinated team in party chat with just themselves.
As for the glitch in question, I’ve never experienced the issue myself since I do hear people talk just fine. Besides party chat, I think some people will outright go into their own Xbox One settings and turn the option to hear people talk or share content straight off to completely mute themselves and non-friend Xbox Live users, it could also be a number of things (Mic’s being broken, poor connection, etc.)

im not really sure what it is your talking about cause it isnt what im talking about. it appears you dont even know what the lobby is. you most definitely have had a problem with lobby chat i know this because it doesnt work. lobby chat is before you have even selected a game type chat does not work in the lobby. chat does work once a game has loaded but not before then.

> Yeah this is really annoying, ruins the social aspect of halo. Give us a proper pre game lobby where we can chat and see who is on our team.
how is it that everybody i play with hates that lobby chat doesnt work but things like cant connect to service lobby are all over the forum when in most cases all you need to do is reset your xbox so it isnt even really a problem but lobby chat is clearly broken
im really excited about next weeks update but i really hoping to a fix to lobby it is extreamly frustrating that it doesnt work and with forge comming out there is gonna be alot more custom gaming and lobby chat is an essential part of custom games
There have been many close games lost due to people using party chat because of the absence of lobby chat, where in a team slayer game two team members are in party chat and two randoms in game chat, a single call out on an enemy or coordinated team push would be the difference in a 48-50 game many many times. The party chat has ruined the possibility of teamwork countless times for people just jumping into matches. If i’m playing alone and I play 10 games, at least 7 of the 10 games is complete silence because the remainder of my partied teammates are either not using a mic or are in party chat.
Now, if it does indeed get fixed/added features I hope it will add the mic icon so I can see who is speaking. Not seeing who speaks to me is kind of annoying but not detrimental to my gameplay.
Hopefully after CG update drops and organizes the fireteam I would like to see a hot fix for the lobby chat issue.
