Is Nathan Fillion not doing mo cap in Halo 5?

Imgur
Captured from Making Halo 5: Guardians Sprint Vidoc teaser, this image shows what’s supposedly actors of Locke’s team members performing motion capture for Halo 5 cutscenes. We see Mike Colter as Locke… but the other dude presumably acting as Buck is not Nathan Fillion! We know Nathan Fillion will give Buck his voice, but will he not do the motion capture? If that’s the case, I’d be more than a little disappointed, he is one of my favorite actors! What do you guys think?

He has done some of it at least:

> Spartan Buck (Nathan Fillion) was the former leader of ODST team Alpha-Nine. They captured his voice, scanned his face, and even had him do some motion capture work.

I think they might have chosen someone more Athletic for the motion capture work. As much as I love Nathan Fillion, he isn’t exactly in the greatest shape at the moment.

He’s a busy guy. They told me he did SOME mocap.

I agree. I think it’s totally fine that Fillion isn’t doing the mo-cap stuff for Buck - in the same way Mr. Downes doesn’t do the mo-cap for Chief. I think he knows the character very well and his vocal performance is what will be what defines Buck the most.

I don’t think he is, just the face

Probably right.

I’m sure they hit him up for facial expressions, and some basic walking/standing type stuff for gestures. But anything that requires some athletic movement probably requires a more suitable actor.

This.
