From what has been unveiled about Halo 4’s story I’ve been thinking that Master Chief may try and get revenge against his fellow humans (Oni and such), because of what they did to him when he was a kid.
Kidnapping him and forcing him to be a soldier and then a Spartan.
I also think that Spartan Op’s will be his fellow Spartan IV’s taking his place in the fight on Requiem, while he goes and get’s his revenge.
ps This is just something I’ve been thinking about, and wanted to post it and see what people think.
Also it’s 6am where I am, and if I made any canonical mistakes I’m sorry about them.

It would have to take much for MC to turn on humanity and would be rather uncharacteristic. Thus far, he has a remained a loyal solider.
No, i could see ONI turning on MC first but Master Chief isn’t in it for revenge for what ONI/Halsey did to him. That’s not who he is.
No, because I guess you could argue but John thought killing covies is one thing, but it’s another that he can never bring him self to fight against a human unless absolutely necessary.
And since Halopedia is reliable most of the time here is a excerpt from part of the Article about, John.
John greatly dislikes being kept in the dark, ambushes and fighting human soldiers. Once, when cornered by three large ODST in a gym, he did his best to avoid a confrontation. In the end, he was forced to defend himself with lethal force. While killing Covenant never placed a burden of guilt on John, ending the lives of fellow human beings was something he never felt comfortable remembering. As a soldier, John knows when it is appropriate and inappropriate to fight, and has great control over his emotions thanks to a clear state of mind. Due to his augmentations, he reacts much faster than an average human, seeing events at a fraction of normal speed. It is almost a clairvoyant state of mind, and as a result of this, has an acute intuitive insight and perception of any situation combat or non-combat

I was also thinking that ONI would turn on Master Chief, like make out to be a traitor after he’s captured by the Didact like in the Scanned trailer.
Something like “He can’t be trusted anymore, his AI is going rampant and he was captured by the Didact”.
I also think because Cortana is going rampant, that may also influence what Master Chief does.

But can that information still apply in Halo 4 . . ?
I can see it applying to everything before Halo 4, but I can’t see it applying to what’s going on in Halo 4 =(
MC is not emotionally or logically hung up on his past. The spartans stand fast by their mission and the lives of their “family”. Turning on Oni or humanity would not only undo what he set out to do in the first place but undo who he is as a person. Why would vengeance suddenly crop up in his mind after decades and decades of war and fighting? Surely most of the people who have wronged him or made out to do so are either dead or very old. So the short answer, No MC isn’t going to get revenge, nor does he see any reason for revenge.

Seeing how close they are, whatever happens to Cortana will no doubt have impact on his feelings and decisions. Plus that argument on board the Infinity with Captain Del Rio is going to be a strong moment in Halo 4.
John however, would not just turn on humanity like that. he would have to turn on everything he’s fought for so far, and betray those who sacrificed themselves in the war. Including his best friend Sam, Keyes, Johnson etc.

I wonder when he is getting his mind explored by the Didact if he has Cortana in his helmet or not . .
I think that would greatly impact his mental abilities.
I haven’t watched Forward Unto Dawn yet, I’m waiting for the one that comes with the LE.
I also understand that he has all the memories and feelings, but I don’t know how Master Chief would do under a mind probe =( I don’t think he’s been through such a thing before.
I agree, with the fact it would take something horrible, to truly force John to ever turn against Humanity, atleast those he has fought alongside.
I feel ONI has some evil forces working within it, and should be dealt with accordingly, but I am not sure if John will be the one to do if there are truly bigger threats out there he must lead others through.

It would certainly be a more interesting story than: “Kill those bad guys because we said so!”.

No doubt that Halo 4 is going to be pushing Master Chief to his limits, which alongside Cortana’s Rampancy and discovering his own humanity, breaks the monotony of checkpoints and go over here, kill this
I don’t think Master Chief will broken though. Nothing can break the Master Chief.

I don’t think Master chief will “broken” either. (snicker)

I hope he doesn’t get a mind break, but I think he will have some mental problems after getting his mind probed.
ONI would be a target I think, but civilians and fellow Spartans I don’t think he would kill.
I’m kind of thinking it will be like Batman and Bane in the Dark Knight Rises, Master Chief being Batman and Bane being the Didact . .
I think these two quotes sum it up pretty good . .
“It doesn’t matter who we are, what matters is our plan”
“When Earth is ashes, you have my permission to die”
