Is the mark 7 armor Naomi received considered GEN 2?Also what’s the deal with the GEN2 armor, are they given the “MARK” designations or is just every gen2 armor is now designated by its specific application such as OPERATOR(specialist with vehicles)etc. More on my previous question, if not what I said before then will the gen2 get improved models, lets say… mark2 gen2? My final question is whether the GEN2 is superior to the GEN1. If so please elaborate(shield strength, better specs, physical enhancements, etc)
I believe mark VII was the first issue of GEN 2, although I believe that’s just what the community has assumed at large. It was never stated that it was GEN 2, but it was stated that mark VI was the last of GEN 1, so we can assume mark VII is GEN 2. Also from what I gather is that GEN 2 is more powerful and better than GEN 1, HOWEVER, the Spartans themselves are worse than the Spartan II’s, so the upgraded suit has to compensate for this, meaning it works out as IV’s are still a little worse than II’s, even with the better gear. The Materials group (manufacturers of Mjolnir GEN2) upgraded all aspects of the armour, from weight to shield strength to making the user stronger. It also comes with the ability to use armour abilities and tactical packages and support upgrades. Also I do not believe that the Mark designation is used, instead they are just referred to as MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor/… with the … been the specific name of the armour, for example: MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor/Defender. The next version of Mjolnir will probably be GEN3.
Hmm

Based on Halsey’s Journal, the Mark VII (which is what Naomi-010 wears) uses the same technology base as the Gen 2 armour. Naomi-010 has hers configured to look similar to the Mark-V, but that is an aesthetic choice.
The Gen-II hardware that the Spartan-IVs where is definitely a lighter weight version of the same gear. Based on that, I would say that any Spartan-II or Spartan-III in Mark VII suits would have no troubles defeating any of the Spartan-IVs. About the only advantage the lightweight version may give is less mass therefore slightly quicker response times (as in takes less time for the body to stop moving in direction A, to now move in direction B).
As to where they go in terms of the next generation / technology of MJOLNIR, I could see Gen 2 Alpha, Beta, etc, (or Mark I, II, III) until such time as the technology does another major shift, and they go to Gen 3.
I would say no. Mjolnir [GEN2] was a new line of armor built in line with the Spartan-IV program. If I were to guess, the Mk. VII given to Naomi was probably a one-of-a-kind battle suit, perhaps even a prototype, abandoned when [GEN2] went into development. But obviously, there’s nothing to support that.

Write down a mental note to ask Catalog that when he returns from his vacation.
