is Locke not as skilled as the Chief?

it seems like Arbiter and the UNSC need Chief to come back to save them again…why? is Locke good, but not as skilled as Chief or something?

Is anyone as skilled as the chief?

> Is anyone as skilled as the chief?

There are other Spartan two’s in the books that are a lot better than Chief in different kind of traits.

Locke certainly doesn’t have the combat experience and first hand knowledge the Chief possesses. No one else in the galaxy has gone through as much as he has.

How are we supposed to know?

Anyway, the UNSC doesn’t need any one person to save them. They aren’t looking for Chief he can shoot a couple scary aliens for them.

You actually never know. He could of done allot of sh*t. Halo’s universe is massive. He could of been saving one side of the galaxy while Chief was saving the other.

What is weird is that even the ONI cant find Chief.

He can also be hunting Chief down in order to replace him. If ONI sent him for this reason, then they wouldn’t be stupid enough to send one spartan after him, unless they know that the spartan(Locke) they are sending for his replacement is as badass as Chief.

I believe its fair to say that Chief is much stronger and much more skilled. Locke might be thinking to much of himself when comparing himself to Chief. It is rumored that Locke could be the FIRST guy that speaks to Halsey in the first mission of Halo 4’s cinematic cut-scene. I think its highly possible, or it could be his commander or something.

It is not skill I think. Plenty of S2’s were more skilled than Chief but had the misfortune of being less lucky and dying on missions…either before getting MJOLNIR suits, or because mankind as a whole hadn’t yet found a way to fight Covies effectively.

The importance of Chief is that he is the most experienced of all Spartans. He is one of the few to have been inside the Covie political center, to have met Prophets. He is the only Human that is imprinted with Forerunner magic-beans thanks to the Library. One of the first to have an AI basically implanted (which gave him a huge advantage over everybody else).

We’re talking about a man who destroyed 2 Halo’s, The Ark, the Unyielding Hierophant, a few Covie Cruisers, a Prophet, and a Flood outbreak.

With the help of others, true.
But no other person in the UNSC can say he has that much experience in the most decisive battles the UNSC has fought.

Locke, with all respect, also is ‘just’ an SIV. Just like every other Spartan is ‘just’ a Spartan compared to what Chief has done. He might be as skilled, but he certainly lacks that experience.

It’s a game.
Locke will play however 343 wants Locke to play, and it’ll be for gameplay reasons.
(Assuming Locke is playable)

ONI wouldn’t choose him if he weren’t exceptionally skilled. He’s also described as “A Rising Star” in Halo Nightfall. Whether any of this means he’s as skilled as John is unknown, but there’s no doubt that he’ll be an exceptionally skilled Spartan. Much more so than any spartan 4 we’ve seen so far.

The Chief was the leader of the Spartan IIs for a reason…

For his leadership capabilities. Individual skill in battle doesn’t equate to a leadership position.

I would have to agree with ambr on this one… XD

He surely has got some things up his sleeve if ONI chose him for this mission. Currently we can’t say more about him without any facts, though I’m sure MC is still the boss hehe

Fred and Noble 6 rival Chief, all day.

That said, we don’t know the extent of what he is capable of now after the Librarians magic trick.

It’s highly impossible. Our mystery interrogator had white skin, Marlowe is black.

Chief isn’t the smartest, fastest or strongest Spartan. Though he is a good leader.

That was before. By now. After Halo 4. Master Chief is pretty much at godly level.

But nobody was quite like John. Even among his fellow Spartans, he was revered. When Naomi gets filled in that search efforts for John have ceased, she is crestfallen. She remarks that she thought that John would outlive them all.

Fred-104.

I was being sarcastic… ain’t NOBODY like da chief.
