Is "Limited Edition" worth it?

After seeing more info being released about limited edition i’m having second thoughts.

A lot of us were misinformed about what is actually in limited.

I personally thought we would get the scanner and strider helmet. I thought
the recruit armor was exclusive at first. Now i hear FUD is just a digital download
or stream on waypoint and not a disk.

I’m really just thinking about switching my preorder. I’m not 100% positive that i
will switch my preorder but nothing really keeps me sold on LE.

I can buy standard and get the online map pass get 2 helmets and save money.

What really comes with limited that is worth the extra 40 dollars???

I consider it paying for convenience mostly.

No. I stopped paying for limited/special editions after H3, as they are always pointless and the content they have is usually dumb.

Now, I was never misinformed about anything in the LE, but sorry if you were.

I think it’s good value to me just because of the Steelbook case and the DLC. I mean the six specializations will help me too because I want to do Rogue first, and the extra Halo stuff always makes me happy. I’m sure the helmets will be available to everyone anyways, not that I care that much.

I’m getting everything I promised and am spending extra just because I want to have the Limited Edition. Nothing really on the downside for me here.

It’s not worth it in my opinion but I’m too lazy to change my preorder.

Don’t think getting the 9 maps in the future is “dumb” but rather convenient.

i actually liked reach’s because it came with physical items and had the flaming helmet.

What does limited give that shows everyone you have limited. An AR skin?? lol
im not even going to use the AR in halo 4 lol

My real question is,what is the difference between season pass and war pass.

It depends. I ordered it quite a while ago. I have been disappointed in some decisions 343 has made about it, but not to an extent.

The DLC map pass is available separately. The main thing about LE is convenience, but it’s not too big of a difference.

You get your avatar armor and stuff which is cool.

Unfortunately, the Forward Unto Dawn uncut we were supposed to get has turned out to be only viewable on waypoint. This was a let-down for me, as I expected a dvd.

Of course, on top of this, you get some blueprints and info sheets with the game.

I would still get it right now, as I believe the price difference between a regular version + map pass is only a little less than the le, and the other material makes up for it. However, $100 is a lot to spend at once. Your choice.

Wow, it is so difficult to pay for the maps as they come out instead of once right when you buy the game.

Sorry but saving a few finger movements is not convenience.

If you ask me, of course it is! Not only does it come with a bunch for exclusive digital content, you get easy access to FUD (which is extended), early access to Specializations, and the War Games map pack (which is worth $25 alone), but you also get the briefing packets, which I am very excited to read. On top of all that, you get the case and you get to say that you got the limited edition for 343i’s first game and the first game in the saga.

There was a huge thread about this a while back. That’s what the LE has, and I don’t think that’s going to change.

But, I read somewhere that they are currently brainstorming ways to bring the other armor (Ex: Scanner/Strider helmets) to people who did’nt get the season pass. This is not confirming that they will do this, keep in mind.

Some people don’t use credit cards and have to go to the store to buy points.

lmao I’m exactly in the position this guy is in.

There still are things that make the LE worth it, though admittedly there are less than what i previously thought.

Well if you buy just the standard game and the map pass which i believe comes to a total of $85 then limited edition will only be about 15 dollars more.

So when you’re at the store, buying H4, pick up MS points too…

The limited edition is only worth it if you intended to get the War Games Season Pass and if you would pay about the same amount of money you’d pay anyway in my opinion. Also, only if you don’t care about either of the fugly helmets that come with the separate pass.

I’m gonna pay about $90 for my copy, hence, I lost nothing by buying it. In fact, I probably save about $2 (tax) since the standard edition + pass would be $90 all the same, and I’d have to pay tax on it (suppose I could order it just like I did the LE, but I probably wouldn’t bother).

If it weren’t for that, I personally wouldn’t bother. But that’s more or less because I don’t care for digital-only content nor skins I wouldn’t be caught ever using.

Besides that, I’m sure this will probably be the only Halo I enjoy out of the new trilogy, just as CE is the only one I enjoy out of the 1st trilogy. Then they’ll start trying too hard, and 5 and 6 will be 2 and 3 all over again. At least that’s my prediction

For those of you new to these things, here’s a good rule of thumb for any and all “Limited Editions…” →

… The things in them are rarely, if ever, limited and/or exclusive; and furthermore the “limited” game itself is usually the opposite of its moniker.

That’ll save you alot of grief in the future.

To me it isn’t worth it.

To me it is worth it also. Halo is the game that started it all for me! I own every game and play them a good bit. I would be buying the map packs if they didn’t already come with the LE. So again, in my case, it is worth it…
