I was wondering, is it really canon to the series? What if it got things wrong? Something that worried me was a Spartan pointing a Magnum at an innocent woman in the trailer I watched on my Xbox 360. That’s really out of character for a Spartan in Halo.
Tell me what you think of Legends. Do you like it? Hate it? I know there are people in the community who wish it was remade with Halo’s original art style and fixes to the story (if it has errors), so I wonder if you would like that as well.
The stories in Legends are canon, except for Odd One Out. As with the games, the presentation of the events may not strictly be canon, especially given that varying artists involved in the production. However, the events depicted were canonical events.
There’s nothing to “fix” with Legends. It was an artistic expression. I find the idea of restricting how artists imagine Halo because it doesn’t “look” canon to be a bad one.
Odd One Outs been jokingly refereed to as “anime that UNSC weebs watch” in some fan circles, so take that as you will.

I meant the story needed fixing if it had errors.
Question: Have you watched Legends? That example with the Spartan you mentioned makes sense in context of the story being told. You can’t judge a story without knowing how it goes like that. Only Odd One Out is non-canon, and a few artistic details, but 343 was upfront about that.
from what I know odd one out is non canon, and a few others have retcons here and there but overall yes, all of them are canon.
Every Halo Legends story is canon with the exception of Odd One Out. As for that scene you mentioned, here is the context:
The Spartan was pointing a magnum at her flash clone after escaping from an ONI facility, and was contemplating whether she should kill her. She ultimately chose not to.
