Is kinect required for Halo 4?

I want to know if I should buy it.

I’m not BS Angel but I can tell you that it’s not required

EDIT: This is from BS Angel, though

Our mission, from day one, has been to deliver a faithful recreation of the original game, and we remain dedicated to seeing that through to completion.

You should buy it even if it was required bro!! It’s gonna be AMAZING!

Again I am not BS Angel either but I wouldn’t worry too much about HAVING to have a Kinect. I am sure H4 will have some kind of Kinect functionality but I am also confident it will not be a necessity.
Also for future reference I might shoot BS Angel a PM instead of making a forum post directed at a single individual. (Just my 2 cents).

They’re not going to talk about a feature like that after it just got announced. They would have showcased it at E3.

At least for me, Kinect is “required” the moment there is even only one achievement that can only be acquired by using it.

And just in case I haven’t said it often enough yet: Kinect is the root of all evil.

I don’t think Halo 4 will need kinect. But, some people are saying that forge would be better with kinect but I disagree.

I’m so certain it won’t be required that I’m selling my Kinect in a few days. If for some reason it’s a requirement for Halo 4, that will be the point in which I leave Halo behind and move on.

That’s like leaving a child behind.

Take a hint, Microsoft.

It seems that the stance Microsoft seems to be taking (appropriately so in my opinion) with Kinect-integration into their titles, specifically the more mainstream ones, is that the Kinect is their to enhance, not to replace. Even their tag line “Better with Kinect” seems to emphasize this.

I think it will something where if you don’t own one, youwon’t feel like you are missing anything. If you do own one, then you’ll have the option of enjoying some extra features that play to the peripheral’s strengths. If you don’t like the Kinect itself, you probably wouldn’t care about the Kinect-enabled features anyway, so it’s really a win-win in my book. I’m certainly looking forward to seeing what features Halo: CEA is going to include Kinect on, just as I am looking forwadr to experimenting with the voice commands in ME3, or the Gunsmith feature in Ghost Recon.

Certainly a valid question overall, but one that I pleasently feel bears no ill answer of either side.

Grim

I hope Halo 4 dosen’t add kinnect, I like kinnect but some people are saying forge would be easier with it! I disagree in many ways. For one, lining it up with your hands would be impossible, also people are saying it should be voice activated, I disagree on that too. Saying the item you want, it would be easier with a controller. Anyone agree with me?

Probably not because halo 4 is most likely going to play like original halos and Kinect dosen’t really have any other good games yet so I would still wait

Required? No, that would be franchise suicide. I can nearly guarantee that the game will have some sort of kinect integration, though.

I hope it’s not a necessity, I just traded mine in and got some Astro A40’s instead :3
