Is Jul's arc in the books over?

Jul 'Mdama, Covenant Remnant Leader, interesting guy seems like his arc was sort of wrapped up in The Thursday War, there are however things I’d like to be seen, like him meeting Gek, how he got his fleet, his relationship with the Didact (how he persuaded the Didact to work with him) I like Jul and he’s the best thing that came out of the Traviss books, I’d like to learn more about him, I could see the Didact point being brought up if they novelize Halo 4, if Traviss makes her next book jump to 2557 that would be weird, but hey I’d just like more stuff on Jul in the next book

You can’t say Arc if he was only in one game

> You can’t say Arc if he was only in one game

I was talking about the books, I’ll change the title

I’m sure he’ll get a mention in the next Kilo-5 book.

I don’t think his arc in the books is over just yet. Theres still a pretty big jump between him meeting the colony guys and him having an entire fleet at Requiem. I’d like to see how he gathered an army and made his way to Requiem.
If we’re lucky, we met finally see how he becomes ‘the didact’s hand’, and how he gets control of the prometheans.

Hopefully, I think the only interaction I’ve seen between the two is a music documentary and the didact’s old voice actor talking to someone who is presumably Jul, I unfortunately cannot find it

Don’t worry, I can recite it from memory.

> There was a 45 minute long music documentary released for Halo 4 which I saw on Youtube around February time (I think it has since been taken down). It gives you a detailed account on the production of each track in the Halo 4 OST and the track Revival was allegedly inspired by the performance of David Anthony Pizzuto (the original voice of the Ur-Didact before he passed away in February 2012) speaking his lines in the original awakening scene.

Can’t believe I missed that. Would’ve been an interesting cutscene though.
Shame about the guy’s death, but thanks anyway.

Thanks! That’s a nice piece of interaction, I’d love to see Jul and Didact explored

No problem.

And yeah, Pizzuto’s death was a massive blow for the voice talent in gaming. Take all the games you’ve played within the last 9 or 10 years, the chances are he’s been in most of them.

I think the book will explore how he became the leader of the Covenant forces he found at the end of the Thursday War.
It will probably show him meeting Gek and finding the co-ordinated for Requiem.

I would be surprised if Traviss jumped the book ahead to the events of Halo 4, especially since she has Venezia, Sangheilios and posably the discovery of the composer, to deal with in her current time frame.

Off topic quickly (on my own topic): Maybe we’ll see if the humans encountered 049 Abject Testament on Installation 03, but it since humanity had found it in Glasslands I don’t know… unless they hadn’t met him yet

If I remember rightly, Halsey has a blog you can access in the Hunter room on Ivanoff Station, which describes her thoughts on the Composer.

At the end of Glasslands, I got the impression that Halsey hadn’t been on Ivanoff long, so I’m guessing they found the Composer after that.

Interaction with 049 would be cool, Infinity is also the ship that moves the Composer to Ivanoff, so it would be nice to read some of that too.

His character arc from Glasslands to The Thursday War was definitely my favorite part of her books. He was too much of a bland stereotype in Spartan Ops, so I hope the last book does his character justice, too.
