I’ve been playing Halo Reach for a long while now. And i sometimes switch it up to Halo Wars 2 and MCC, i remember Halo 5 being extremely meh around the time of the Remember Reach update. So i ask you, lovely Halo peoples. How is the game currently, is it worth installing for multiplayer? I refuse to play campaign again, i mea- it’s jus-N.O.P.E.
That’s up to you. I personally enjoy Halo 5 when I play it. I particularly enjoy customs nights.
Personally, I find Reach firefight to be a much more satisfying experience than almost anything H5 has to offer, but no two people seem to want the same thing out of a game, so take that with a grain of salt.
H5 still suffers (imo) from overly complex motion and weapons that are near impossible to aim. It has nothing to offer the solo player besides campaign. It has a very low population which brings to the fore all the problems with ranks and matchmaking. The customs browser, which should have been the salvation of this game, turns out to be a bit of a sewer. And every day that goes by seems to expose more of the flaws in the Warzone formula, making it for me as near to unplayable as makes no difference.
All that said, time away from a game is usually all that’s required to air it out. Just load it up and give it a few days. You might be surprised.
That’s up to you to make that choice, I just recently uninstalled it cause I don’t find Halo 5 fun anymore in my opinion
This is likely an extremely biased place to be asking this question, but I for one quite enjoy playing Halo 5. The H3 throwback playlist is a blast, and I’m especially enjoying the Construct remake.
It tortures me but at the same time it’s my favorite game. For me I wish it was more balanced because I’ve been getting destroyed lately. It is still worth getting.
I think it’s about to die because of player complaints. Searching for a match is getting longer everyday. Have you bothered checking other threads? Mostly there’s always someone complaining about something. but 343i will not do anything until half the halo 5 population complains about it too. Multiplayer? Well if it’s warzone or customs i’d say yes. Ranked Arena NO, precision weapons are crap because magnum beats rifles. But i still love this game
Op I will say it like this to you… Think long and hard about installing this game again. While I still do play this game…Every time I play it I say to myself why am I playing this! If the game performs well for you then I would say give it ago! But one thing I look at when playing any game is how well does it perform. How well does it perform consistently. And H5 doesnt even come close at all to a decent playing game let alone a good playing game. It is very in consistent and performance is sketchy at best. Specially for a game like this. Imo with how this game plays with a wide range of issues players have had with this game has finally taken its toll on H5. The question is how much are you willing to put up with… Good luck with your decision…
I still keep playing multiplayer, I would like to get to rank 152 just to do so. For the most part the game is fun if you have friends that you can play with, not so much with the soloQ life.
Were you around when the November sandbox update went out?
I’d say it’s worth the reinstall if only for the H3 playlist. It does, however, take a while to reinstall due to the size of the game so I’d suggest starting it when you go to sleep for the night.
Depends although this should probably be in the community just saying in this section it’s a little biased like covermymeds said above but it depends if you liked it before yes if you have good connection,yes,if you can deal with the lag and long wait times,yes, I would like to uninstall it but my little brother is addicted to this game so I can’t but if you got enough space then go for it
<Lots of laggy players, mainly those located outside of the USA.
For example lots of Mexico and South american players have really low quality internet speeds and even worse QoS. Quality of service or “a stable connection”. which means they lag and teleport in game, knowingly lagging for advantage.
And last but not least the lag switchers, didnt think u could in halo 5 until i came across a channel on youtube where he records himself doing it in custums assasination match. Custums are supposed to be dedicated servers as well.

I took a few months break from H5 and video games in general. The last 2 months I have been hard at ranked play. I competed in FFA until they took it out for FFA HWC 2018 I tried that out but kept matching with pro players and even though my shot could hang with them my movement could not. The past week I have dabbled into competing in the Swat playlist, and I’ve enjoyed it so much I’ve actually been playing 8-10 hours a day on my free days. It’s a small community of top tier swat competitors but everyone I have met so far is so cool and competitive. I’m getting closer to breaking champ in the playlist. So the grind continues for me. But all in all find something about the game you enjoy, and grind at it. Best of luck OP

It’s not improved. If you didn’t like it back then…I suspect you won’t like it in it’s current state either. The campaign is supposed to have been patched to be easier but obviously I doubt that would make the campaign more fun due to the way the campaign was designed. I’ve kind of been doing same but I’m just grinding H5 for the SR rank, I’ve been switching between MCC, HW2 too. I think the best thing to do for now is probably play MCC, Hw2 plus MCC is due a beta patch this month to fix out the issues. Plus too many things with the multiplayer is unbalanced in H5, they’ve re-added Warzone 12 player party’s so that’s kind of ruined it for people that just prefer random players due to the clans destroying teams in the playlists. Also the Halo 5- H3 throwback playlist is awful, might be better just playing H3 or H3 on MCC.

Last time I checked H5 took up nearly 100gig, pretty sure servers are mostly ok at the moment but it has been known to break often.

whoops! misread, thought he had 5 and was looking at reach :P. 5 can get boring a little quick, and if you don’t care for sometimes slightly quicker matchmaking and more updates, it isn’t really worth it IMO

Sure it does seem like the dev’s have mostly abandoned Reach. H5 stability does seem to be getting worse, content updates just generally these days seems mostly like community forge maps, reskins of armour and thing’s sadly aren’t getting any better since most playlists are just over-saturated with forge maps.
