Is it worth getting the X1 for Halo 5

I’m still undecided on which console to get. One of my childhood games called Kingdom Hearts is now multiplatform and it will be on the X1 and Ps4. Halo 5 is gonna be on the X1 and Halo is my favorite fps. Despite the huge let down with Halo 4, I’m willing to give 343 another chance.

Last gen almost all my real life friends owned a PS3 and there’s a very high chance they’ll be getting a Ps4 but I have yet to actually ask them which console they’ll be getting. So my main question here is should I buy an X1 mainly for Halo? Should I get a Ps4 because my real life friends are more than likely to get it? Kingdom Hearts is out of the question because its coming for both consoles.

On top of that Sly Cooper a PlayStation exclusive is also a part of my childhood games. I understand its my money and that the final decision will come down to me but I just want some rational opinions on this topic.

Well honestly we don’t know that yet since we know little about the game, I would suggest you wait until next year’s E3 to make that decision because that’s when we will get a lot of info about the story and how the gameplay will be and all that good stuff.
I’ll be getting the XB1 because I like its launch titles and next year we’ll be getting Titanfall + Halo, Halo is my main reason for buying it not gonna lie. And it looks like every game with MP for the XB1 will have dedis which is awesome, I may get a PS4 later on but now my choice is the Xbox.

As one of your child hood game is mutli-platform I think you should be getting the Xbox 1 because of the dedicated servers, and tell your friends about it.

I was extremely disapointed by Halo 4 and is definetly not getting the Xbox 1 because of Halo, but enjoyable titles such as Destiny, Dragon Age, Fable, Elder Scrolls, and The Witcher 3.

I am skeptical to Titanfall I heard it is mainly a multiplayer game.

I will also buy the Wii U because of titles such as Zelda, Mario Kart and Super Smash.

Childhood games I’m not going to advise you on. Halo and NFS Hot Pursuit 2 were my childhood games, so naturally I’m an xbox fan. Those games really tug at you.

Honestly, I’m going to tell you to get the xbox for Halo 5 if you feel it looks good, but if not, get the Ps4. Personally this is an extreme fanboy thing, but I’m going to keep buying the Halos no matter how bad they are just because I started with them and am desperate to get a Halo 2-level-awesome Halo again.

normally i’d say yes, but i was very disappointed with halo 4. though i’m hopeful for the next game and will be getting an xbox one i’d wait to get as much info as i could if i were you before i’d pull the trigger on a system just for this game.

If Halo 5 is your only reasoning for getting an Xbox One, It isn’t worth it. There is a good chance that Halo 5 will be a flop. Although I’m 100% sure Halo 5 will be better than H4, I think the chance of it being better than the original three games (1-3) is pretty much zero. Although I’ll probably get an X1 as it is the console used competitively (MLG for COD Ghosts etc), I wouldn’t count on Halo 5 being the game we all want it to be.

My purchase of the Xbox One hinges on what I see out of Halo 5. It’s the only video game franchise I care for, and Halo 3/Reach have accounted for the vast majority of my time spent on the 360.

I think I can get by with the current gen console until next holiday season. Getting the latest and greatest console/games just doesn’t matter so much after you turn 30. Besides, maybe the price point will drop by then, which would certainly factor into my decision.

If Halo 5 doesn’t appeal I might go for PS4 or, horrors, no console at all.

Well Halo is the main reason why I bothered with the Xbox1/2 previously so for the Xbox3 it’ll be the same reason but it can wait so can’t see the point in paying the current prices on the console with the lack of decent titles coming out at moment for the Xbox One so I’ll wait it out.

Yes, Buy it.

Halo will always be great, even if it seems to be in a slump right now. (Truthfully we gamers are just getting more nit-picky about every little thing)

If you love the Universe then it will be worth it.

All the new games will be on 360.
XB1 doesn’t have backwards compatibility.

Therefore, I’ll be sticking to the 360 so I can play Ghosts, Destiny, and Halo 3.

But if Halo 5 looks good, I’ll buy One.

Titanfall is entirely multiplayer. I don’t see how that’s a problem though.

It’s worth getting the X1 for ALOT of reasons.

Truth

Because it is a game I don’t think I will be able to get into.

I can’t get into a multiplayer game anymore. I can be super enthusiastic about it, but after getting burnt out in a couple of hours after every gaming session ending up with 1-2 days in total gaming time I don’t consider it a good deal. It’s probably normal but considering I have played 110 days of Halo 3 it’s not comparable.

If the game however would have been like any of the games I listed, where the bulk of the game is the Single Player with a 50 hour + story everybody can follow and get intergrated into, without having to read books or watch series to understand what is happening I would have bought it.

As there is no campaign to enjoy or multiplayer I can adapt to I won’t be buying the game.

Buy it for Halo 5, keep it for Quantom Break, Titanfall, Project Spark, Killer Instinct, Fable Legends, Dead Rising, Ryse, Forza, all the multiplats and a generally better online experience (because of dedicated servers). So far, Xbox One’s exclusives outweigh and outnumber the PS4’s (unless you include indies). Also, you get to keep your achievements.

after Halo4 and the other disaster, the almost brand killing xbox reveal and what microsoft tried to do.

i would say op get a ps4 and stick with your real life friends. wait for the xbox to drop in price if you’re only buying it for Halo(which we have not seen).

if the rumours flying around at the moment are true which so far most have been, then i would advise everyone to wait a few months before buying the xboxone. they are saying its rushed out the door to beat the ps4 to market. RROD all over again.

10 years on xbox and after the lack of good games for the brand in the last few years and all this crap surrounding the xboxone. im not getting it…ps4 for me.

ps. the playstation 4 will use dedicated servers too.(someone mentioned only the one will).

Halo 4 was 343’s first actual game. After hearing them say they learned a lot from Halo 4 I’m willing to give them a second chance. As much as Halo 4 had it’s flaws it was still a good game, so I think they can make Halo 5 a great game. X1 all the way.

ALL OF THIS, I AGREE

You can’t on PS4? Not in the loop on this aspect

Everything from your PS3 profile transfers to PS4 just like the 360 and X1.

As for the topic at hand. Halo 5 would be the only reason for me to get an X1 right now and that’s why I’m not getting one till after H5 is out depending on how good it is. For now I’m getting a PS4. The only X1 exclusive that holds any interest for me right now is Titanfall which isn’t really a true exclusive as I can get it on PC.
