Is it time we finally see his face?

Originally Master Chief (in the games) was kind of a vessel for the player. As the games have progressed, Chief has developed as a character, especially in Halo 4. Chief is now his own character and if they really keep developing him in this game, I’m very excited. I don’t know if they’ll ever do this, since it’s a really cool mystery, but I’m beginning to think it’d be fine. In the Legendary ending of Halo 4, we see a brief glimpse of Chief’s shadowed eyes. Maybe this is just me, but I think 343 is getting us ready to finally reveal his face. Do you think that we’re going to finally see his face in this game? If not, do you think it’ll be in one of the later games? Would you be fine if they reveal his face?

No. I know they teased us with it in the legendary Halo 4… but I just don’t want it to happen. It’s supposed to be a mystery. It’s supposed to be what we project it to be. THey will ruin the illusion if they show him.

I think the moment we see his face, is the moment that Chief becomes mortal.

Is what he looks like even important in any context? Maybe they will pique whatever interest there will be to see his face when they kill him off.

They already showed a part of it in Halo 4’s legendary ending, so I think there will come a time when we see it in all of it’s glory.

We’ll see Chief’s face in his dying moments much like in Star Wars Ep. 6 with Darth Vader. Other than that, they will never (and I hope) show his face in any other situation

halo 4 legendary ending helmet comes of, i saw the eyes and i just thought?! marcus? marcus fenix?! xD

I agree. Only for the legendary ending of his final game (Halo 6-7 probably).

If anything they’ll show his face in the halo after Gaurdian’s, gotta end this trilogy with a bang.

What if there was a mission where he was trying to blend in so he had to take his armor off and put on some normal clothes for once. lol
But then they just put some shades on him with like a watch dogs type mouth cover and a hat. That’d be funny.
But then again he would be like 2 feet taller than everyone and jacked so he would still stand out.

His face shouldn’t be revealed until he dies. He should like take his helmet off for his final stand.

Somethings should remain a mystery.

I’m good either way. But as others have said, I think it would be ideal for him to remove his helmet during his last stand (assuming he dies in combat, that is).

Salvanous said it really well: “the moment we see his face is the moment he becomes mortal”. Ideally, he shouldn’t be “made mortal” until the moment comes for him to face that mortality.

Its not like his appearance is some great secret. We know what John looked like when he was a child and we saw his eyes at the end of Halo 4. So just take his younger face and put it through one of those aging apps lol

Naah not yet but probably in the next game they should like right before he dies that would be cool

No, we don’t deserve to see his face ever

I don’t see any point in doing so. Why should they show his face when, for so long, the whole idea of not seeing his face is to allow the player to ‘be’ him. He can perfectly do anything any other character could as a faceless character. It’s not like he can’t be emotionless. If you don’t believe me, watch the last cutscene of Halo 4 and that is proof enough.

no! thats the most iconic videogame secret

No we should not. There is no way to depict his face in a way that will meet everybody expectation. So he may not be as BA as everybody is thinking. He is pretty old!

I think that it would be fine to see his face because he takes his helmet off in halo ce
