You could trade with a sword/melee sword block in every game, at least prior to H4.
Nothing wrong with SC? It is such a noob tactic that is difficult to counter. First off, many times if you melee them at the same time, your melee wont register, you will also get stunned while they can almost immediately shoot. Furthermore the hit detection of the SC is so forgiving; the threshold for counting as a hit is absurdly large. Even if my legs were hit then I should take less damage.
When I see someone charging towards me, I try to melee twice moving forward and it usually takes us both out.
Lmao one bullet to knock people out of sprint? You would be more pissed about that
What would the point of sprint be then?
It’s bad enough shields don’t recharge while sprinting and you can’t reach full speed if you are getting shot at
II am top 1% of spartan charge kills already
All I see is a BK that got out br’d

I don’t see any problem with getting knocked out of sprint with a single bullet. The point of sprint should be to facilitate you moving into engagements and for evasion. As it stands right now, shooting a player who is charging up to a full stride sprint deactivates their sprint making a SC impossible. This is fine. However, once a player has reached a full stride sprint, no amount of bullets will deactivate their sprint. This should be changed so that a bullet strike deactivates the sprint just like it does for a player that’s charging up to a full stride.

Exactly. As I said earlier though, I don’t blame anyone for using it. But the bottom line is that it’s very difficult to counter. Scoring the melee on a SC’ing opponent is tricky and requires very precise timing. As you said, about half the time, the melee doesn’t register. And yes, I agree with your hit detection comment. I don’t know about you, but I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten hit while in the middle of a side-thrust animation.
Doesn’t need to be removed. There’s nothing unfair or overpowered about it- it is not infallible. More options and more mechanics is a good thing. When there are more things to learn(both how to do things and how to deal with other people doing them) the game will stay fun longer.
3 magnum shots and a punch counters it. It’s not even that bad. Is it time for Waypoint scrubs to stop complaining?

I"m all about the new mobility mechanics of the game. I think it’s added to the gameplay. But your wrong regarding the SC for all the reasons I previously cited. My concern is that there isn’t adequate enough defense techniques that allow you to counter the SC. I have no problems learning new things and practicing new strategies. Please read my OP for the details why.

Did you even read my post? My post was completely laudatory and congratulatory to the 343 team in creating what I’m considering the best FPS game ever. You should try reading what has been said before weighing in. You just look ignorant otherwise. As to the “punch” it doesn’t register half the time. READ THE OP!
They won’t remove it, it’s part of the game. You can easily boost dodge it or like others have said, melee + quick shot. I think what would be better than removing it, which I don’t agree with anyways, would be to simply increase the amount of time you have to sprint before you get up to “full speed” to do the charge. It’s honestly only about two seconds of sprinting before you can do it, so if they added a little time to that, it might help balance things out, at least on the smaller maps where people seem to have more of a problem with it.

By the way, “Spartan Charge Nonsense” is a PERFECT example of what I’m talking about. You clearly had the jump on that guy; put in multiple shots while backing up, yet he was still able to pull of the SC and render you half-life for an easy finish. This is truly an imbalance that circumvents skilled play. 343 should consider making it so that a bullet strike on a full striding sprinting opponent causes their sprint to deactivate.
I dunno I like smashing through walls but it makes it harder to punch if you are sprinting…

I’m not a programmer, so I don’t know if removing it or not is feasible. As I mentioned earlier, a good compromise would be to allow a bullet strike to deactivate a full stride sprint. As it stands now, no amount of bullets will knock out an opponents full-stride sprint. Note: A bullet strike will however reset an opponents charge up time to reach full stride.

Boost dodging works just fine.
does anyone else use Spartan charge as some sort of secondary thruster? Lol
Very well crafted. Let’s see if I can do the same.
I completely agree with you on the fact that SC should be removed/heavily nerfed. I don’t know if anyone else has noticed this but the SC has a magnetic quality. What I mean is that you don’t have to be perfectly in line to score a hit. One example is if you side thrust out of the way, 90% of the time the attacking spartan will angle towards you, which is completely unfair to the player with fast enough reflexes to move out of the way.

No it does not. It rarely works and in most instances results in a hit for the SC’ing opponent. I’ve been hit countless times in the middle of a side-thrust animation. It’s happened so often that I’ve abandoned this as a strategy altogether (except when I hear an opponent coming up from behind and I have no other option.).

EXACTLY.
Actually whenever you sprint it takes a second or 2 to get up to full speed. In that acceleration time one bullet will knock you out of sprint but once you are up to full speed no amount of bullets will knock you out of sprint. This is a good design choice imo
I used to always die to shoulder charge from the front because I would try to melee but get knocked back to far so my melee wouldn’t connect. Now I just continue to fire and at least 80% of the time I can beat a sc from the front
I like Spartan charge. It gets me killed trying to do it more than I kill with it, but it’s cool.
