You must never of played Destiny then if your complaining about the spartan charge. Titan shoulder charge was a 1 hit kill that could be used after sliding and for a long distance. The spartan charge isnt hard to counter at all.
Nah

It can still be disabled but still, I don’t see an issue with it. It doesn’t 1 shot you.
Though, I wish there was a way to change spartan groundpound because I cant get air-assassinations anymore without being prompted to groundpound.
First of all, excellent post OP.
Though I’d like to say I haven’t really had any problems with SC, maybe because my enemies haven’t used it on me often? Maybe I’m to mobile?
Your nerf ideas sound great, because if it really does need to be nerfed, may I suggest needing to be more accurate, aka no auto lock with a charge? So high risk of misses yeah?
That or the distance you lunch at them, or maybe a ‘debuff’ you obtain after connecting a hit, such as slower turn speed, some sort of ‘stun’?
I don’t like the idea of a bullet stopping your sprint, like if you’re sprinting to make a jump and last second a guy shoots you and you fall and die, rip sprinting skill jumps lol, unless you just ment the recharge for the SC being available is reset, then that could be plausible.
It’s funny, everyone has thier own opinion of Sprinting in Halo, interesting to see us now discussing an ability based around sprinting.
Why?
Im sure weapons have a knock back value. Iv seen weapon varients with kinetic bolts that augment knockback and damage against vehicles so i believe weapons have this value in their stats.
Im sure something like a shotty or sniper rifle has greater knockback will have greater knockback then say a smg thats built for hosing a area with small rounds.
Problem is iv not seen 343 release any data on this and most youtube channelers only do a cursory review at best for each weapon. We may be missing a deeper level of the game here because we dont have the information needed to see it and games are so hectic we barely notice it. For example it maybe a strength of the much hated ar that it has greater knockback value then the smg (a weapon favoured over the ar many times) and as such is better defence against a charging spartan.
Idk really, in the battlefield franchise we had everything handed to us so we could make sence of the 100+ guns on offer but im not seeing that here and if the game IS this tacticle we need that info.
I’d rather them not, spartan charge is not a big deal, easy to dodge when they are coming at you, from behind is a different story, that fault lies with the radar only being 18m

As of now, once a player has reached a full striding sprint, no amount of bullets will knock them out of a sprint. This in my opinion creates a game imbalance due to the fact that the defender really has limited tactics at their disposal to counter the attack as I mentioned in my OP.

I see what your getting at but surely the bullets would kill the opposing Spartan before the Spartan reaches you. Plus I don’t think any amounts of bullets would stop a Spartan moving at that velocity anyway, I think it would look really clumsy and make SC not usable if you can counter its movement in a single bullet.
There’s is no problem with it at all. If people pay attention to their surroundings and take notice of the charging Spartan, it can actually be disastrous for the charging Spartan as they cannot stop the charge. If anything, they should increase the damage so that it actually does something against vehicles
I personally don’t mind SC. I think it’s a nice counter while you’re sprinting. So you’re not completely helpless. Ground Pound on the other hand, is really annoying.
No, it’s easy to counter. Either unload a full clip into them and don’t stop shooting, or do a backwards jump thrust it’s not that hard. Both will result you alive from the shoulder charge.
Spartan charge I honestly don’t have an issue with because its pretty easy to counter and in custom games you can turn it off and invite random’s to have a great time.
not a huge fan of SC either. I tend to do double melee and boost backwards to try and avoid these.
It’s too late to be removed but it ought to be made so 1-2 shots stop the charger
No way Spartan charge FTW. It feels so good to get kills with the new Spartan abilities.
SC needs a tweak for sure. It does not need to be removed. Maybe dial down the charge distance a bit.
I like charge.
Everything seems fine in the game
Simple answer is NO
It baffles me. People cry about games being to samey, yet when they add something new and fresh. They cry that it ruins the game and want the same as before ><
The ability pisses me off more than getting a mongoose in a gold req pack.
Halo is evolving and I think they should keep it because I need something new to do everyday. One time I Spartan charged, slided, and headshot! (I have been here since halo 2)
