IS IT TIME FOR 343 TO REMOVE THE SPARTAN CHARGE?

Thrusterpack out of the way, or just walk out of the way seems to work for me.

Thanks Traxoline. Check out “Meek Meek Meek’s” hyperlinked gameplay links on page 1 of this thread. The first two really showcase the kind of frontal SC play I’m talking about.

Still trying to figure out how myself can SC someone at full speed head on and do nothing but they do it and I fall.

How about no?

Yes precisely. In addition, bullet strikes ALREADY prevents a player from achieving a full stride. So this argument has little merit. The only tweak I’m suggesting is that bullet strikes ALSO deactivate the sprint of a player who has already reached full stride. Currently, no amount of bullets can knock a player out of a full stride sprint.

What your asking is that people just all camp the roof on dispatch and br all the running spartans knock them out of sprint for a free kill. Sorry not going to happen You can’t have wide open spaces like that and implement this without destroying balance Sprint may aswell be removed if they did this.

Edit: Also let me state something could be done what i don’t know maybe make the frontal charge weaker like it only takes out 50% of the shield but behind is just the same as assassination in essence one hit.

You never thought of getting a friend and just practice have him SC you and do your best to dodge him? Concentrate on the dodge first and once you got that off then start to add your kill into it

I understand your point, but I guess I see sprint as a tool to assist moving around the map and nothing more. Check out “Meek Meek Meek’s” hyperlinked gameplay on page one of this thread. This is precisely the type of imbalance that’s occurring due to the SC.

Actually, I’ve done exactly that. It’s on that basis that I’ve formed my opinions.

Well the first three videos i don’t see an issue the third one for example he says I used his thrusters to get out of the way but what he did in essence was thrust backwards which isn’t always going to cut it i make this mistake to. Sideways thrusts FTW the first video the SC range wasn’t that far in all three videos he thrusts backwards the same mistake actually the second video he jumps backwards in essence making himself a target and the same on the first it wasn’t a thrust it was a jump backwards only on the third does he thrust but too late. Thats not imbalance thats called not having fast enough reflexes, heck i do the exact same thing at times i forget to thrust left or right and go back then i am dead. Think about it he jumps back as someone thrusts at him in the same direction? Result? he gets hit by the thrust lol.

PS sorry for poor english it is 3am and i am seeing blurred already :stuck_out_tongue:

Its almost as if thousands of people have reccomended this…

why is this even a thing, spartan charge is ok all right

I agree with this ability being removed or nerfed. The knockback makes it really difficult for a counter melee unless you time it perfectly like nano-second perfect and recently, some forum members found that while sprinting, you actually don’t appear on the 18m radar until you reach the inner ring which is like 7-8 meters giving you barely any time to evade his charge unless your basically only focusing on the radar but you can’t do this because the pacing in Halo 5 is pretty fast compared to previous Halo’s meaning taking your eyes off the screen to look at the radar could easily mean your death.

Don’t give it the halo name if I it does not play like halo. Give it a different name something new a new IP…

Which is why i suggested a frontal charge to take a 50% reduction in its damage the knockback and being weakened should be enough. Doing what the OP suggested to tweak sprint would ruin sprint itself and not change charge really.

I agree that finding creative ways to nerf the SC is another way to go. But allowing bullets to knock players out of sprint would have a direct impact on the kind on frontal SC attacks I’m talking about.

Actually as someone who uses the ability, I also know how to take down someone coming at me. You can strafe away if you practice, and go for an easy head shot. If anything tune it up and make it less OP, but don’t just remove it from the entire game! So I agree on tuning it, but disagree on scrapping it. Also for all the people talking about 2K16 Reach, please go on to those forums. Good game, but just let it die. Take what you get or go somewhere else, but quit complaining about how Halo 5 isn’t a re skin of Reach. Accept the new or go play the old, but don’t slander the new because you like the old.

no i like it because you get shot down to quick without it
