I remember in H4 it was possible but it was really hard to pull of: however I’ve been trying for days to do it in H5. I was wondering if anyone has managed to do so? Or if it’s even possible.

In halo 4 yes, but I don’t know if in 5.

It’s also possible he’s talking about the req assassinations you get in packs, which if that’s the case those are only for spartans.
I saw my friend assassinate one in halo 4. But when my girlfriend tried it in warzone firefight last night she just smashed it to pieces. So the assassination for watchers probably don’t exist in halo 5. As far as we know. I’ll go ahead and believe it’s not possible. Someone might say it is but they could be trolling lol

Well a brute assassination was actually impossible, the watcher assassination was a colossal pain in the -Yoink-.
I tried once and it didn’t work. I’d like to think I just missed or didn’t hold it down long enough, but you probably can’t in 5.
That being said, it is really tough to airsassinate/drop down assassinate anything in 5 thanks to ground pound messing with aerial melees.

In halo reach the brute needed to be completely unaware of your presence to do it.

Sure about that? I remember rushing in and assassinating one or two of the brutes that were killing civilians pretty much every time I played through exodus.

Huh… I didn’t know that… But I’ve tried that before and it never worked…
Assassination was removed, I’ve tried many times. As well as many friends, tried campaign and Warzone. It’s gone… Really sad, I miss riding by their “wings” and tearing their “wings” off and throwing them at the ground.
However Soldier’s have 3 assassinations,
(Common) they hit the ground you knife their face,
(Rare) You throw them and jump on their face.
(Mythic) You jump on their face and knife it to oblivion.
Crawler’s have one assassination, which is just you riding it and tearing its face off.
Knights have two:
(Common) Stab them in the back with your knife.
(Uncommon) Take their knightblade, and stab them with it.
Warden has three:
(Common) Knock his legs off, stab him in the back.
(Uncommon) Stab his back multiple times.
(Legendary) [Can’t remember.]
