IS it so hard to update a game correctly?

I got Halo wars 2 months ago and beat it (the singleplayer). I dont’ care for MP so haven’t’ played since, but every time I turn my Xbox on (lol like once a month) there’s a few games that need updated of course… and Halo wars 2 is one of them. And EVERY TIME, I have to download 22 something GB! Is there some odd reason you have to replace the entire game instead of just the files that were changed??? It’s gettign really annoying leaving the console on overnight every time…

ok this is weird… when it started that huge update again, I decided to pause it and started the new console OS update instead. Once the 1S rebooted… I cant’ find the Halo Wars 2 update anymore. Apparently there isn’t one now? So what happened to the few hundred MB of junk it had already downloaded before I paused it? Should I uninstall the game AGAIN and reinstall it? Could the game be screwed up cause of a update that didn’t finish, that doesn’t’ exist now?

This is part of a known issue and has been investigated by 343 and escalated to the team at Xbox. Looks like Xbox have identified the issue and are working to fix, a dashboard update has been released to Insider Alpha and Beta ring users that should hopefully resolve this issue.
