Is it really that hard to just make a ranked category with 1-50 ranks and team slayer, btb, swat, doubles etc?
Yes. It’s not happening in Reach.

What about more Arena playlists, Ms. Know It All?
i’d like to see more arena, or arena incentive

Not privy to that information, unfortunately.

Well they did implement FFA Arena for a little (which was freaking awesome btw), so I would assume the coding allows for other Arena playlists to be added. Use your 1337 H4X to talk to get BS Angel to talk to someone to talk to someone to talk to someone else about it :3 ?

This would seriously upset the casual players, and unfortunately Lol-Reach’s population is 80% casuals.

If you want 1-50 you can go play Halo 3. Nothing is stopping you.

Well first of all: no,wrong. Second, the lack of ranked playlists is one of the many factors that casuals were turned away by Reach. Third, It’s impossible to implement a 1-50 and the system used isn’t even that big of a deal. I’m sure a crap load of people would be happy if we had the same playlist separation as we did in H3 just with Arena rankings instead. Obviously we’d prefer over that if for your Division was on your nameplate, and over that for your highest Arena ranking to determine your rank (like H3) to give players a more addicting incentive to play ranked, and only then does the next step up become a 1-50 system over an Arena system.
Realistic goals my friend, lrn themz.

Yes there are actually dozens if not hundreds of things stopping him. The primary things being
- Halo 3 is old an irrelevant
- It is no longer managed by bungie meaning no playlist updates
- We all played it for 3 years and are looking for some changes (that doesn’t mean we want fundamental changes to the core mechanics of Halo, but that also doesn’t mean that we won’t flat out not put up with them).
- It has no population, takes forever to find games, and the only people playing ranked are the MM legends.
- The game wasn’t even that great in the first place, and Reach has many benefits over it; The overall mechanics not necessarily being one though.
- Poor graphics
I could go on…
this “go play Halo 3 if you want _____, no one is stopping you” is the same as someone saying “Man our government is screwed up, I think this and this and this would be better” and then you say “Well if you don’t like it go move to China, nothing is stopping you”. Especially in the sense that someone who would say that is clearly ill informed of the “mechanics” of both governments, just like how the people who say “go play Halo 3 if you want ____” are ill informed of the “mechanics” of Halo (I’m not talking about surface mechanics like AA’s, bloom, etc it’s the effect they have on teamwork, skill gap, decision making, etc; the complex skills of Halo). It’d be one thing if you didn’t find these things important, but to be completely obvious yet be under the assumption that you know what you’re talking about is the primary reason that this flaming amongst the community even exist. I have only met 1 person out of the thousands of Reach supporters who actually understands Halo mechanics (meaning he had a 50 in H3) and has no qualms with Reach’s mechanics (and even then I am skeptical of whether he is boosted or something). Again, we have no problem if you don’t prefer these things, but it’s the attitude of thinking that we’re idiots, when it’s actually you guys who are missing a lot of information.

I understand exactly what your saying, But even D-Maq (who always got on my nerve but has recently been making a lot of sense on Gandhi’s new Live show) said “COD has large online numbers but a small competitive community, while Halo has smaller online numbers but a larger competitive community!” Even while MW2/COD-BO/MW3 have been dominating H3/Lol-Reach for some time now they still couldn’t get high online viewers to watch MLG or Live Lans of COD.
This shows that the COD community is not a big fan of competitive shooting and more of a past time, or having fun without a care. Halo is more competitive and to some competitive IS fun. Yet Lol-Reach’s MLG viewers are near completely gone falling victim to SC2 and League of Legends. Not only on MLG but other Halo communities as well, like “TheLanNetwork.com” too has lost some of its viewers after Lol-Reach replaced Halo3. Its hard for anyone to get a Halo competitive Live stream going now days. Good thing Pros like Ninja and Snipedown have their own Live Streams, also I saw Instinct, Ambush and SQ last night stream their own online practices too.
Bungie and Major Nelson’s stats show Lol-Reach population as higher than H2/H3 yet the Competitive Halo Community is suffering and hitting all time low audience, shouldn’t the competitive Halo community have bigger audiences on MLG and other same type events and Live Streams if Lol-Reach’s population is higher?
Not trying to sound sarcastic but I’m just confused, if Lol-Reach shows respectable population and some argue that its actually higher than H3, why is the competitive community dying? That’s why I see the Lol-Reach gamers on more of the casual side.
or maybe the competitive community doesn’t care about Lol-Reach’s Tournaments right now and are waiting for Halo4’s Tournaments and Live Lans,…that’s my best guest tbh. I’ve been watching MLG since it began years ago and even though I dislike Lol-Reach its hard for me not to watch MLG events. I’m curious about who or what teams will place top 8.
hint: Ambush looks pretty scary right now, they gave Instinct all they could handle last night…actually I think they spanked them, ROY was super PyStOff!
