is it really 343's fault?

IMPORTANT!!: what i am about to say has to deal with the fact of peoples constant cries of halo copying cod. i personally do not believe that is true, but i have made an argument against them seeing on how they won’t shut up.

i would like to say, is it really frankies fault? or is it society it’s self. yes i know there are a few hundred thousand players who absolutely love how halo was and don’t want it change multiplayer wise, but how can those few hundred thousand people compare to the few million people who “like” call of duty. it’s a tough choice, and businesses have to go towards the crowd sometimes to make people and themselves happy. so before you go blasting about how 343 ruined halo, it was actually society itself who ruined it.

no
EDIT: well since HDHacker would like a more thought out post here it is: no i think it is the communty because they ask for info and whine when they get it.

I believe it’s the Community’s fault in general.
[Except the vanilla lovers]

> no

can you please post a more educated post? and please don’t be ignorant

the game sounds good to me so far dont worry as soon as 343 show halo 4 game play the cod fan’s will back off

why would you say the community, and not society itself? who was the one who made cod popular, and who was the group who keeps buying and playing cod?

> the game sounds good to me so far dont worry as soon as 343 show halo 4 game play the cod fan’s will back off

why thank you, it’s nice to hear from people who are no going quick to decisions here now.

Mr. HDhacker i improved my post so do i get a sticker?? holds hands out

If I had a dime for every “HALO IS COD” thread, I’d be a very rich man.

I think the changes are justified. I also think Halo 4 will be great. The people who say it will be a flop obviously haven’t seen what EA does to their games. Just because some features are similar to Call of Duty does not make it Call of Duty by default. Believe me, we are better off with 343 Industries than Bungie. (being in the camp that thinks Reach is horrible)

Copying Call of Duty is clearly a terrible idea, because people already have a game they can play that’s like that. It’s called Call of Duty.

You’re not going to cut into their audience by doing the same thing. You have to be different. It’s like all the games that decided to take on World of Warcraft, by making themselves into another version. Why would anyone play your game that’s just like it, when their friends are all on the real thing?

For the new Halo to succeed, it needs to be different. Working with MLG to get their settings in from the off would be a great start. It needs a big, big marketing campaign the size of COD. It needs to take over the dashboard until you’re sick of it. It needs to be on every billboard in every city. It needs to be on Champions League adverts, on TV and in the ground. It needs to be on whatever sports you Yanks play, rounders, netball and rugby I think.

But it doesn’t need to be selling hey, look at me, I’m like Call of Duty. It needs to be selling itself as Halo.

no you don’t get a sticker. but you shall get a cookie, which is way better than a sticker. and i semi agree with you on the community thing

personally i cannot judge 343. they have not released a game that allows me to judge them. but some changes could be unnecessary, and i can think of a few things they could add different than what i’ve heard

you have read my mind. i support games who choose to be different from other popular games. but sadly it’s what the company who makes halo that gets to make that choice, and sometimes copying cod can easily make money. it’s just hard to do most of the times

It’s all the communities fault they ask for info then complain about it, just wait until the next gameplay trailer the earth will be destroyed in the process

fine fine, i’ll give you a big sticker than.

:open_mouth:

lol yet again read my mind. but how can you blame the community for wanting info? it’s a basic function in them to want more halo 4 info.

That’s what Reach tried to do; maintain the same formula but add original things. It didn’t turn out too well. Spartan Ops sounds exciting, and if the drop-in drop-out thing is true, I’ll never have to deal with the rage of losing a match because someone had to quit. For the latter, it’s the better route to take.
