Is it possible to turn the "High-Res Texture" pack off on the Windows Store version of Infinite? The game runs awful with them on and Steam allows us to uninstall them

Uninstalling the high-res texture pack on Steam improved my performance an absurd amount. I went from not being able to maintain a stable 60fps on the lowest settings of Infinite to running the game at a stable 72fps (on a 144hz monitor so its smoother) on High settings. The best part is that on my 1080p monitor I notice almost no loss in texture quality!

I want to play the campaign via Game Pass but with how awful the game runs with the High-Res Textures, not being able to uninstall them on the Windows Store version means there is no way I’ll be able to comfortably play the campaign on even low settings considering its absolutely going to be more demanding than the multiplayer.

Considering how strict the Windows Store version of games are with what you’re allowed to do with your purchases/downloads, I’m sure it isn’t possible and I certainly haven’t found out how to do it. But I’m hoping its doable!

  • Left-click the ‘…’ button on the Halo Infinite game page in the Xbox app
  • Select ‘Manage Game’
  • Click the checkbox next to the ‘High-Res Textures’ feature
